  1. Classic Kings not playing a full 60 but I’ll take it. So happy for raccoon Jesus 🎩🎩 🎩

    -Byfield looked super dangerous (despite being 90% of the reason we let a goal in this game)

    -Kopitar still looks ready to go and his shot is DISGUSTING

    -Kuemper absolutely dialed in

    Bad:

    -spent 2 periods jorking it and luckily only ended up down 1-0

    -Clarke wasn’t *bad* but he is gonna take some time

    -Fiala was pretty invisible (as were multiple forwards but he is typically much more noticeable). I would group in Kempe here, made some tough misplays

    -Jeannot did not look like a top-6 forward…

    Overall can’t be mad, we got 2 points and the team looked like they figured some stuff out for the 3rd period. GKG

    Edit: Shoutout Turcotte also, played really well. Lee was also solid for his debut.

  6. We broke the Buffalo curse, got the first road win of the season, Darcy Keumper is a fucking wall, and Kopitar is on a 246 goal pace. What’s not to love?!?!

  10. kopitar, byfield and kuemper were good.

    offensive scheme was a joke. enter the zone, blast from perimeter and blue line. pp was awful until that last 5-3.
    defensively we collapsed on the buffalo forwards leaving players open.

    overall we kinda sucked. gave up a lot of good chances. buffalo hit the post a couple times. lucky to get the win.

  13. Isn’t this like the third time in the last few seasons that kopi has had a hat trick on opening night? I remember at least one other against Vegas a few seasons ago, but I feel like there was also one more

  17. If that’s the Kuemper we’ve got for the season, we can rest easy on the goaltending situation. Pretty much single handedly kept us in that game for two periods.

  25. Got to watch the Sabres fans happiness sucked out of their bodies in person. Apparently trying to get a go kings go chant wasn’t something Sabres fans wanted to hear tonight lol.

Kings have to be more defensive/offensive I’m happy they won and fixed a lot towards end but Darcy was getting killed out their and luckily he only allowed the one goal on break away the kings did fix a lot of their mistakes tho at the end and it showed always happy for a win just a slow start

  29. We def didn’t deserve to win but Kopi and Kuemper carried the team tonight! Good to get these points now while the team is still shaking off the rust and figuring out their new lines. GKG!

  34. I wasn’t a big fan of the Kuemper pickup, but after a single game I can safely say he gonna win the Vezina!!!

    I love watching QB play. I really hope he can score 30+ goals this year. He’s constantly dangerous and doing stuff. Lee is gonna be fun at this level. Clarke needs a few games to settle in.

  36. A win in Buffalo is worth four points figuratively. Lucky to get that 2 man advantage but it’s great to see Kopi ready to go early and often! Young guys did a good job starting on the road, hopeful they’ll get better as the season progresses.

  38. The Kings had a great 3rd period. The other two not so much.

    Great to see Kopi get off on the right foot and as Jim Fox mentioned about a thousand times Kuemper stole this one . . . not something we’ve heard in a number of years.

    The team is different this year. Playing up tempo and attacking. Way different than last year’s approach.

    I’m not concerned with the first two periods at all. Sabres came out fired up as fuck at home to get a win, give em credit. Kings battled and shut them down in the THIRD..

  44. Thank God for Kopi! Rough first two periods to the season, but maybe Buffalo having a couple games on their belt already helped them jump out to a good start. I’ll take the win and let’s move on! GKG
