  1. Hey guys! What an awesome game from Gally. Was awesome man. I really thought wed get Hatty Gally tonight. Caufield scoring back to back goals was nice. Anderson also looked amazing. A bit dissapointed with Suzuki and Slaf to start. But hey. Still love what im seeing from the boys. And Hutson looks like a Calder lock haha.

  2. Matheson was so bad, in my opinion he is the reason the 1st pp unit looked so bad. You replace him with Hutson there and it will look 10x better.
Armia has been terrible to start the season.
I want to see Struble and Mailloux in for Barron and Xhekaj.

  3. If i'm demidov i'm not even showing up to these games till the coach agrees to let him play top minutes, why mess up his stat line by riding the bench.

  4. Armia seems to play well with Gallagher and Evans. Keep that line intact. Rotate Heineman and Kapanan on the first line with Suzuki and Caufield. Slafkofsky should play with Dach and Newhook. Better balance on the top six this way.

  5. We need to talk about Slafloatsky!!!! I am not sure why he keeps ghosting when he plays with higher level teammates, it looks like his IQ reduces and he barely makes any plays or seems too scared to hold it longer. Plus hes not even boarding as much as he did last year. Hes really trying to play like a winger woth out doing anything 😑. This guy need to wake up quick!!!!

  6. Montreal working it .Fell short tonight .But iam glad they are tweeking their core group out .Cannot wait tell when we start making consecutive 3 game plus winning streaks.

  7. I'm liking the young movement on the Habs roster so I feel more patience with a greater amount of hope since they gave Bergevin and Timmins the boot. At least the Habs gave Swayman a 4.00 GAA.

  8. I'm excited everytime I see Hutson on the ice, you just know he's gonna make something happen. The way he shimmy shakes around the ice, he looks like a magician out there.

  9. Once again MSL shows he's still a rookie. Monty plays the Game of his life the he gets sat the next game? Wtf is wrong with MSL? He di it last yr to both of them on shut outs too. Unreal. Play him while he's hot ffs

  10. Matheson seemed out of sorts last night. Maybe it’s because Hutson is impressing so much and it is making him question his role. Having said that. Primeau had a rough game and I didn’t see a consistent compete level all night. I loved how the team battled back but with a better game from Primeau, we could have won last night.

Keep in mind though that Montreal played the night before and Boston didn’t. Mid to late in the year, that may not matter but early in the year, it is an adjustment.

  11. Can someone please tell me why Slaf never moves his feet, never picks up puck with speed , afraid to shoot and afraid to carry puck. I mean wtf. He can clearly skate he can rip the biscuit , he has great hands and uses his body well. Why is he standing still? He stands in a spot. Looks to move the puck. Never moves. Especially on pp. now he’s just sitting in front of net not making an effort to shake his defender. He looks so freighted of the puck ( imho he’s petrified of making a mistake ) in preseason he did the same and I thought “ oh he probably has tweaked a groin and just wants you to be careful ) just pisses me off. Give me his size and skill and I’d be in the HOF. No doubt

  12. Roman Rottenperson has to be doing it on purpose. why? That remains to be seen. I do not think Heineman will be a steady NHL player as he has no finish and not a lot of compete. Kaapanen is hustling and the puck is finding him more. What I did take from last night, is that Hutson is ready to be our PP QB and we can trade Matheson who is a defensive liability (I've been saying that since last October) You can only have 1 small defenseman on your team in this league and that is Hutson. Trade Mathesson for a top 6 forward and bring Struble or Mailloux back in for size around our net. Great Show guys! GO HABS GO!

  13. Hi Josh / Jesse, this is probably the worst situation Demidov has had to endure in his young hockey career. No doubt he is frustrated however it may very well add to his hunger to excel in the NHL. We all face adversity in life so it comes down to how he handles it. As far as his development stagnating, I wouldn't be concerned given his talent.

Regarding Hutson, IMO Habs should give him the minutes on the 1st PP unit and see what he can do playing with Guhle. Why break in a talented player slowly? If he is capable give him a shot and if not then reduce his minutes until he is ready to make the leap.

Some "experts" are saying Matheson has earned #1 position on PP and defence based on last year. That is a nonsense. In life, whether you are a professional athlete or in any other career / job it is continually about proving yourself better than the competition. With respect to Matheson, he has done well with Habs but he is not Booby Orr.

  14. Refs are calling way too many penalties, for both sides, and it slows down the flow of the game. Linesman need to simply drop the puck during faceoffs instead of pulling guys out, it drives me nuts!!

  15. They need to drastically lower Matheson TOI in O Zone. Specially on PP1… the amount of time we lost the puck and the o zone possesion because of him is insane. At least 1:30 just yesterday. He is a good defenseman, but not at all a offensive ones like Hutson.

  16. Hutson is something else. He's great not just at creating space for himself but recognizing where that space is and how to exploit it to get his teammates open for good chances. I expect Matheson will get more chances on the top powerplay unit but I wouldn't be shocked if by game 10 or 15 it's Hutson's job. This team needs someone that can create openings and holes in opposing defenses and Hutson really looks like the only guy that could really pull that off. Hopefully when Demidov gets here he's that type of player too but for now it's Hutson. Matheson isn't bad by any means and has certainly earned some slack but he's not going to create openings in the opposing D. He will absolutely be able to exploit the ones that happen and find open guys or open lanes to shoot but if the opponent isn't making mistakes he's fairly limited in what he can do on a PP. Hutson pulls guys to him creating further man advantages for the rest of his teammates. The first goal last night was a perfect example. Hutson pulled 2 of the 4 penalty killers to himself and didn't lose the puck to them and was instead able to feed Armia who was now in a de facto 2 on 1 with Gallagher against Carlo, who's a good defenseman, but that's very difficult to defend. That's not a play I'd ever expect Matheson to make

  17. Hutson is playing at an incredible intensity right now. If he is able to keep this elevated pace and not burn out, he is going to have one heck of a year. He's really unique. Has anyone ever seen a defenceman like Hutson?
