  1. It’s not like people in 2014 thought Brady was going to play another 10 years. Do you not remember what the talking points were after the Week 4 game against the Chiefs?

  2. This just shows how much we excel at whatever we do. Right now we’re just the very best at losing

  3. I’d believe it, in the 2014 season the Pats were off to a rough start. After getting their butts handed to them by Kansas City there was so many articles about the Patriots dynasty coming to an end. I genuinely felt like the end was near but boy was I wrong about that, they went on to dominate the rest of the regular season and win it all in the postseason

  4. i feel like it would be more shocking 5 years ago, as 10 years ago we had jus won a SB and Brady was already 37

  5. Most of the fans from 20 years ago are gone now. Our fan base is diminishing quickly. I’m a Tupa, megget, law fan at 36 and all my friends have fallen off.

  6. 6 of the top 8 are the most disappointing franchises in the league, it’s looking like the Chiefs could actually 3peat

  7. No, I wouldn’t be surprised at all. It was going to end eventually.

However, if you told me right after their final SB win that it would be at least 6 years (I’m calling no playoffs this year already, I don’t think that’s remotely premature) before they won another playoff game, I might be a little disappointed.

  8. Tom carried this franchise so hard and I still remember many people here turning their backs when he decided to leave and go play where he was valued.
we are going into the 2nd season after his retirement and I doubt we have won as many games as he did in 3 years in Tampa

  9. Me with a time machine: In 2024, both Brady and Belichick will be gone. Their relationship will become so toxic that Brady goes to Tampa, assembles a super team, and wills the Bucs to their second Super Bowl win during a pandemic. Oh and we will win 3 more rings, including two that will become legendary, appear in 4 Super Bowls of which it’s 3 in a row, and then while Brady is having fun in Florida, we will have Cam Newton, but he will be physically wrecked and have no time to learn our playbook and we fall to 7-9 and people dance on our graves, but then in 2021 we will draft this guy out of Alabama named Mac Jones and his rookie season will have you think we still got it….only Belichick will wreck his development by hiring making Matt Patricia and Joe Judge, and trust me on this, those two will only be remembered as FAILURES as HCs but Bill decides those two are good enough to bumble through as OCs but things will become radioactive in New England by the end of 2023 and Bill Belichick will finally be forced out because he built not one, not two, but three straight rotten rosters in a row because he’s drunk on his own kool-aid.

Oh and Tom Brady will lose millions of dollars in a Crypto scam and his wife will divorce him and he will look like he’s had several thousands of dollars of plastic surgery done.

  10. As someone who was forged in the fires of early 90s Pats football, this was always what was to come and thinking otherwise was incredible foolish.

  11. As most said, it was always going to end.

What’s amazing to me is how many years of garbage it’s taking to get back to interesting. We were supposed to be different. 1-2 years of bad, another 1-2 of ok and by now we’re supposed to be contenders again.

    Didn’t work out, yet

  12. I’d have believed this shit, Tom gone and BB not having an ACTUAL plan…. Saw this coming all day

  13. We knew it was going to come to an end, that’s why every game was so stressful felt like we had to win while we could. Honestly I wouldn’t have thought we got another two rings ten years ago. We all knew the doom was acting and we basked in the sunlight before the strom.

  14. Those 20 years make 2024 a lot easier to take. We’ve been through worse. Curse of the Bambino anyone? I don’t mind if we take a few years to rebuild. In fact, I would have been happy to sacrifice a season or two just to have had Brady retire as a Patriot. For now, I’m excited to see what Drake can do tomorrow.

  15. How are we 19th we beat the niners who are 11th and had the second hardest schedule thus far. Hopefully if we pull off this packers game and secure the 1 seed in the nfc west then we will break top 15?

  16. Honestly I’d probably feel some sense of relief. Got exhausting being the top dog for that long. Nobody lurking around to say it’s “rigged”. Got our rings, got out. Quick in and out 20 year Super Bowl adventure.

  17. Honestly I’d probably figure Tom left and we couldn’t figure it out without him. The most shocking thing to me on this graphic would be Detroit as a top 5 team (which I am here for, btw. If the Pats can’t win it all, I hope the Lions do)

  18. Some of you don’t remember when the team was worse than this and it shows. Not making fun of you, but this team was a dumpster fire before and it will be a dumpster fire again it’s the circle of life. The struggle will weed out the fair weather fans tho.

  19. Somewhere around 2014, I started really contemplating life without Brady and Bill. I had no idea Brady would remain so good for so long. So I started reminding myself that it would end eventually and almost definitely not go well. So idk, I honestly wouldn’t have been that surprised if you told me our future would messy
