  1. Oh no they’re getting my hopes up 😭

We definitely still have defense problems, but I haven’t seen us play like this in what’s gotta be five years lmao

  2. I’m not a very emotional man… but watching well-coached hockey for the first team in 3 years brings a tear to my eye

  3. I’m not saying we’re going to be good. I still think we’ll probably be bad. But I do see a lot of improvement through two games we’ve been waiting to see for a while. So that’s exciting!

  4. Love to see the boys play like this. All heart and talent. Not giving a shit about who they’re up against. We might not win a billion games but if we’re giving effort like this I’m watching a whole bunch of them.

    For Johnny baby

  5. I really liked what I saw from Pyyhtia, feels good to beat that team especially. Classy move by Marchy to give Monahan that goal, he deserved it after ripping that one off the post earlier

  6. That win takes a lot of pressure off of opening days. Great team win. Hopefully signs that this will be a fun team to watch this year.

  7. I️ said it before, and I️’ll say it again:

Yegor Chinakhov has turned into arguably the most complete player on this roster, and he’s only 23. He has made meaningful additions to his game every year he has been in the league.

If he stays healthy, he could one day have an A on his chest and 50+ points a season

  8. Marchenko is the sweetest person ever (we already knew this anyway), the birthday boys got their goals, Johnson is playing with big johnson energy, and we can hold leads LET’S FUCKING GO WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  9. We genuinely look like a completely different team. Incredible how much changed bringing in Evason

  10. Wish I’d watched a ten goal shooting match rather than Ryan Day failing for the umpteenth time against a top 5 opponent

  11. Such a awesome valiant effort by our boys, so proud of them and so damn excited for this teams future, you can definitely tell they’re playing with purpose

  12. Glad to see them supporting each other on the puck tonight. They definitely locked in for that one. Marchenko is a good teammate for that one. Everyone looked good and we stayed playing north south tonight.

  13. It’s so nice to have this energetic feeling in this sub and for the team again. It’s still early, and we will have bad games but fuck past couple years have been miserable.

  14. Two games in and this looks to be the most entertaining cbj team I’ve seen in 4 or 5 years.

They get through the neutral zone SO much faster than they have in a while. It’s so nice to not see each rush bog down in the neutral zone and then just dump the pick in.

In the offensive zone they look like they have a plan and aren’t just passing with no purpose until they turn it over.

I’ve seen much less of the neutral zone “drop pass of doom” on the pp. That might make me happiest of all.

  15. It is genuinely shocking how different of a team this is. I remember when we looked like this before. Lots of grit, effort and chemistry. It got us into the playoffs. I’m not saying this year we will, but this is the sort of identity that historically has given us success. Everybody is buying in and the effort is palpable. Love this team.

  16. I just want a competitive team when I go see them a few times this year. If this keeps up, I won’t be disappointed.

  17. That was a fun game, and I could get used to this whole winning thing. Let’s do some more of that

  18. I’m taking this with a grain of salt, but this team is legit better than the hockey world was anticipating. In both of the CBJ’s games I can say with confidence that they look like other teams in the league. They may not contend this year, we may see bad losses at some point, but these guys look well coached. They look like a team. And they look competitive. Hockey in Columbus is fun again.

  19. Welcome to the Soviet Blunion, Monahanov. All I want is good things for him.

Seeing Evason get so jazzed about that win was strangely touching.

More globetrotting from the youngsters, please.
