If the Guardians had lost yesterday I’d totally be rooting for the Tigers to beat NY and even win the WS. I honestly don’t believe many Tigers fans will root for NY. Having a cross lake rivalry will make both teams better.

Honestly, I’m surprised this isn’t from a Twins fan with the sort of shit they were spouting all season.
But Detroit? Come on now. They did have an amazing run, they should be proud of that and excited for the future. As someone who absolutely hated the Tigers in the Miggy/Verlander era, I would have been absolutely rooting for them to beat the Yankees had they gotten there. Rooting for the Yankees over any other team has to be the baseball equivalent of inviting the fox into the henhouse.
Further, any baseball fan should be rooting for the Guards to oust the Yankees to deprive Rob Manfred of that sweet sweet matchup of Yanks v Dodgers that he so desperately wants so he can rake in the money.
