  1. Yesterday was such an important victory. I don't remember when the Habs won by more than 1 goal ahead against an allegedly "superior" team. Can't wait for Suzuki and Slaf to get started… Funny how Anderson was so good when the rest of the team was off vs Boston, and how he played poorly yesterday while the whole team played well…

  2. Hutson is in a different time zone than everyone on the ice. Once the forwards get used to that, watch out! With Demidov, maybe the Habs will get 2 Calder. Some guy named Dryden was the last time a Hab won it.

  3. He’s gonna take chances and make some mistakes like subban did. The difference is attitude. As long as he doesn’t get wrapped up in the hype and starts taking risks to cater to fans, he’ll be an electric team player.

  4. I watched a lot of video on Caulfield when it was with the Terriers and it was so fun to watch and he is doing the same things in the NHL (6 pts in 5 NHL games). The other one who is doing magic is Ivan Demidov. The 2 more exciting players. Hage will be good but nothing compare to Hutson and Demidov.

  5. He made Tkachuk look bad yesterday, very few players in the league can do that… Can’t wait for him to be on the first PP wave!

  6. I love your takes Dekes, your enthusiasm is contagious. I haven't seen an exciting D-man like Hutson since PK and before that it was Markov and the closest guy I've seen to carrying the puck like the kid was Mark Streit in the mid 2000s. He is heading off to be a serious contender for rookie of the year if he keeps this up. 6 pts in 5 NHL games.

  7. Hutson take me off my chesterfield at home when he touch the puck it’s like magic .. I wonder what can he do if he was a centre player could he do it ..loves it go Habs go

  8. A great team effort Cole gets noticed for scoring goals but it would be nice he does some board work setting up others. He has the scoring IQ he elevates his shots on all the crappy modern day goalies that always go down on every shot.
I hope this wasn't a fluke a home game hustle and that we can keep up the good work but more importantly than anything else keep making better decisions on the ice.I never feel like any lead is safe with MTL because for some reason they don't like to keep the game simple over handling it or making ridiculous long passes that have almost zero chance connecting.
We still get hemmed in our end for long periods because the forwards still have no clue how to play in their own end. This is a MUST area to improve or wins will just be spotty no consistency.Defensively we give far too much space opposing players have all the time in the world especially the defense becuase they are 20 feet wide open.

  9. I love Hutson and am happy to finally see him play in the NHL after watching him over in BU for 2 years but I only hope he can stay healthy like Patrick Kane. Some little guys can avoid injuries and I hope he's one of them. I agree with you about how Hutson was the one who started the Heineman goal. He did start that play by skating the puck into the corner.. I missed Tkachuk making fun of Hutson. When did that happen? LOL

I was a big fan of Heineman. I was watching highlights of him in over in Sweden and he reminded me a little of Russ Courtnall, but with a heavier shot. He started off his AHL career hot then ran into injuries. Like he literally ran his head into a Ref's knee. He hasn't been the same since. I am still hoping that he wasn't 100% healthy last season and had the summer to heal. He was OK in camp but I still expect more from him. He's got one hell of a heavy shot and can play physical too. The Habs had a guy named Ylonen who was 2 years older and under contract last season but he's gone now. My hope was that Heineman can have his spot this season and so far, that's what happened. Now to see if he can become a 20+ physical goal scorer like I think he can be.

  10. Hi Drew, this was your [BEST VIDEO EVER] man & I loved it so much. God Bless from a fellow Christian who loves the Habs & our Lord Jesus Christ a bit more as we get prepared to [GO HOME SOON] but while we are still [HERE], lets enjoy our Habs?

  11. Teams will catch on eventually, but it is so funny how many players get sucked in to Hutson. One play last night I think 4 of the 5 Ottawa skaters on the ice were all drawn into him as he entered the zone, with a couple Habs players getting in behind them.

Now, maybe just Ottawa, other, better teams may not get sucked in as easily.

Can't remember which game it was, the commentators were playing Hab or Hab Not, and one of the questions was will Hutson get 40pts this year. All said Hab Not.

Might want to walk that back. While he is better than a ppg player at the moment, I think the number of games played will eventually catch up with him, and he will slow down some on production, but I think barring a lengthy injury, 40pts is an easy gimmie.

Btw, Caufield on pace for 109 goals! 😂😂

  12. Lane Hutson is a generational player.Simply put he's faster, quicker, than most NHL players at his young age.Think about that. Secondly his vision and decision making with the puck is Gretzky like.Simply put he does not make stupid plays.AND he's just a kid! Think about that again. He does what I always told my players to do.FIND THE OPEN MAN or FIND OPEN ICE to receive a pass.Again what separates good from elite players is between the ears I.e. the brain.DUH.

  13. Jakub Dobes should back up Montembeau. He could teach him to stand tall on the corner of the net so pucks dont zing by over his head to the top corner like Stutzlas goal- weak!

  14. Canadiens weakest area is still turnovers in their own end.In this NHL you need 6' 5" defensemen generally.Hutson the exception obviously.Savard plays like 6'5" and blocks shots Jackeye breaks heads and will improve defensively so he can not be traded. He is the guts of the team.Mailloux should be on the team, his talent and size is obvious.

  15. Lane looks like a point guard in basketball the way he skates thru and breaks down the defense and then dish the puck off for scoring chances. If he improves his shot velocity he is gonna be a consistent point per game player.
