I’m loving the early-season heater. Truly. But the Yotes got the same reception after Phoenix stole the Jets. I hope the success and the love for the team is sustained.
The coyote were playoff bound until the team was rumored to be getting sold. Morale is important.
Edit:Moral – Morale. Same thing right?
I’m stoked about the success so far, but this isn’t sustainable play for a whole 82-game season. Defense needs to tighten up, goaltending needs to be better. Offense is lighting it up but forwards aren’t consistently back checking and creating a lot of odd man rushes. There’s a lot to clean up on, but so far it has been a lot of fun.
I disagree that this play is unsustainable. The 4th line is strong without Spicy Tuna in the lineup and when Marino comes back it stabilizes the second pair.
I think we are 1-2 good pieces away from stellar success providing Ingram holds up and Cooley learns to minimize the giveaways
I think the uncertainty surrounding them in AZ did play a factor in their play last season especially. Having certainty has to have helped them.
As an outsider, I think the new location plays a major major role for these players. Some security, no distractions.
The Yotes last year were around a playoff spot when the rumors started kicking about relocation and they lost 14 straight.
Is this level of play sustainable? I mean you can’t depend on over 5 goals a night. But it’s extremely fun to watch.
They had their groove last year before the outside noise collapsed in on them. It’s just been a pretty decent end to a rebuild finally showing its fruits. That’s all.
