Isles are neither a contender nor are they improved. louzer may have slightly upgraded top 6 but flaws remain. Isles can't play tight d anymore. The scoring after top six is sporadic at best. And louzer can't see lack of speed is a big problem especially against younger faster teams? And wanting to get faster? haha isles looked too slow already by second period of opener. Which is perplexing since they had no injuries or no fatigue factor played a part in that. And the speed guys in camp 18 and foudy add nothing offensively. Isles lack the kind of speed that kills. And talent. That is so obvious when playing a team like stars that has talent. And roy putting 29 on top line with 13, 14 produced a big 0. At least pk was perfect for once. Roy can only do so much with this flawed roster. Isles better hope 30 returns healthy and can steal them some games because playoffs are not a given. The only sure way to win games. Isles cans outspeed, outskill, ot out talent most teams. And 8 making mistake after mistake in close games trying to do too much doesn't help isles cause.
Alot of work to do
Going into Denver after the last two outings is going to be tough. Hopefully they play Georgy, because he cant stop a beach ball right now.
But those Avs are gonna be pissed off and hungry and they will want to take it out on a slow, unconfident bunch like the Isles.
