  1. “Experts” condescending to the average fan telling them not to believe what they see and to listen to the “experts” who are the smart, special boys that understand what you can’t. Again, I’m shocked.

  2. Pohlads have no idea & don't care about the Twins. Their success came from Andy MacPhail as their FO who built up their team. Pohlads depend on their FOs, Twins haven't done much of anything after MacPhail left. Sometime they get lucky but luck is a terrible way to run a team.

  3. If the Pohlads actually opened up the books and showed they were losing money they would probably get sympathy from the average fan. But the owners cry poor and cut payroll, all while the average fan thinks they have the money.

  4. Complain about ownership all you want. It’s time to make lineup changes and create a healthier locker room culture. Shop Royce Lewis, he seems to think he’s got everything figured out, bad body language, and rubs established vets the wrong way. Talent only gets you so far, we need talent and leadership. I was never a Carlos Correa fan at first but I can really appreciate his value. We need confident but HUMBLE players.

  5. '87 and '91 will matter until another men's team manages to win something. All depends on if you remember it or not. At 9 years old in 1991, I was just at the age to take it in and have vivid memories. Given what has happened since in this town, I consider myself lucky.

I certainly don't lament the awful Pholads leaving. But how baseball works without a salary cap is going to hamstring the team unless whoever buys it is willing to eat 10s of millions in losses.

  6. Talk about the Twins not being in world series since 1991. Yes it's been a long time. A reminder that your minnesota vikings (yes I still love them) have never won a world title otherwise known as the Super Bowl. They haven't even been in the Super Bowl since 1977. That's 47 years people. I hope the next ownership can bring us more winning. Just saying

  7. Reusee wtf man this might be a time for self reflection and realize its not the 80s and 90s stuff like this hurts your reputation and legacy alot as a shill

  8. Pat is so out of touch with what fans want or do. I'm in Fargo ND and I make multiple trips a year to get to sporting events. I skipped on Twins to start the year because of the decrease in payroll and then canceled a late season trip because of the deadline decisions. I will go back to the games if the owners and front office show any interest in fielding a winning team. I will pay to stream them as well.

  9. Off course the Pohlads are being defended! All the sycophants are sucking up to the billionaire mob in hopes of getting a free lunch! The local twin cities media has been doing for more than four decades. Never underestimate the power of a post-game buffet! Pathetic! I went to too many stadium hearings and listened to the fabrications and outright lies to know how the local media "bent over backwards" to curry favor with the Pohlad and theWilf mob!

  10. As a Twins fan, I wasn't begging for $100 million contracts. What I was begging for was another relief pitcher or 2 at the trade deadline. The Pohlads are the reason that didn't happen. This is why I hate them. That and the fact that I will never forget the contraction. I guess that makes me a stupid fan, right Reusse?

  11. The good news- Kepler, Farmer, Margot and Santana off the books for 2025. The bad news is their contracts will only pay for the guaranteed increases in salaries for Lopez and Correa. Zero money for free agents in 2025 plus 13 Twins are in abitration this year. With the projection for increases in salary, that
means the payroll is going over 135 million and you still have to pay major league minimum contracts for Lewis, Lee, Festa, Matthews and probably E Rodriguez. Payroll HAS to increase next year, regardless of who owns the team unless you trade one of the Big 3, Buxton, Correa or Lopez. It should be an interesting off season.

  12. A fan viewpoint that you rarely entertain is the comfortable certainty of having a team to watch, or in your case, to bitch about. The Twins have had only two sets of owners in their existence. That is dependability on a grand scale. Sure, we want to win, but we also want to have a team to root for at all. I am old enough to remember a time without any of the pro sports that MN has. I remember when the Twins came. Don't forget, we stole them from DC. Calvin loved baseball, but he couldn't handle the financial aspect of the game eventually. Your biggest gripe is that the Pohlads don't love the game enough to be your unlimited sugar daddy. Enough money to buy you all those sweet, sweet players. Changing ownership won't change that. There is not enough money here for that to happen. If enough money for that to happen shows up, it will come from sources that could and probably would move the team to a market where they think they can make more money. It is analogous to wanting the Gopher football team to become Ohio State or Michigan (or Alabama or Georgia, etc). There are baked-in factors working against that. And, honestly, MN would not want to sacrifice many things they value to become one of those.

Also, I don't miss the fact that you guys are basically sports gossips. Nothing wrong with that, per se, but I frown on toxic fandom. Only one team wins the championship each year in each of these sports. Are all the other teams and their players and their fans, losers? As long as everyone involved is working to the best of their abilities to try to succeed, I will not be disappointed. All the outrage and angst about this is not healthy. We venerate winners like saints and denigrate losers like they are unworthy human beings. Since we know that isn't true, why act that way in the first place. I have always loved sports. I have always played sports and competed, but I have grown very tired of this behavior.
