People are saying Ek skated into his elbow. I don’t know.. kinda looks like he over extends with the intention of making contact.

  1. Larsson is playing the puck off the boards. His elbow incidentally hits him in the face. This is no different than an incidental high sticking penalty. It’s a painful missed call, but I don’t believe there was any malicious intent.

  2. Not a penalty. Same as a high stick on a follow through of a shot, not a penalty.

His elbow is flared out because the boards are handcuffing his follow through. I think there is zero intent to hit Ek, it’s just unfortunate.

  3. This is a split second judgement call by the referee and I don’t think anyone could argue if it had been called or not. Seems like most injuries happen with these types of is it a penalty or not plays.

  4. It’s just a hockey play. Sucks for Ekker but it is what it is.

My guess is he didn’t show any emotion either way…..

  5. Yes, it was a missed penalty.

    No, there was not intent.

I dare any of you saying it was intentional to practice digging a puck out from your feet from your backhand. Where the hell does YOUR elbow go?

  6. Doesn’t matter if it’s intentional, still should be a penalty. They don’t let tripping pass cause you didn’t mean to put your stick between his feet. Refs were horrible the whole game, Brodin got tripped and was penalized for it.
