Tommy is getting 30 this year and I’m here to track it

For some context, for the last several years I’ve had a standing bet of a $50 bar tab at our local dive with my friend and former roommate, an Avs fan. He finds it impossible; I keep the faith, because though he might not have done it before, getting promoted to Assistant to the Regional Captain will surely do the trick.
I’d wager $1,000 he doesn’t get 30 this year. The most he’s ever had is 24, when he was 27 years old, pre-ACL tear, and on a much better team.
