Oakland A’s Obscure Player Appreciation Post #1: (OAOPAP; I’ll make a series) Erubiel Durazo. My parents are from Monterrey MX, where he played before going to USA. In 1999 he hit .400+ in AA and AAA, then .326 for AZ. So when A’s got him I was PUMPED and boom! In 2004 he hit .321 with 35 2B & 22 HR

Hardly an obscure player. He was Billy Beane’s holy grail
I never thought he was obscure. He seemed like a key element of those teams.
Dude raked
Loved me some Erubiel Durazo!
This was Beane’s prized player he always wanted right?
There better be a post about Andy Parrino, Kila Ka’aihue, and Kerwin Moore
The next year (2005) he hit .237 and then he was gone. Not gone from the A’s. Just gone. I don’t remember what happened.
Ruby!!
Hell yeah. Let’s keep this going 👍
God damn this shit takes me the fuck back!! I didn’t care if our 1B couldn’t hit for power, but God damn, give me a DH that will nash that bitch for extra bases.
My brothers little league team won some contest and we got to go in the field pre game and talk with Justin Duchscherer in the bullpen. Durazo and Rincon both threw over a couple of balls for us while they were doing infield drills lol. Always loved Durazo.
