Hutch dropping the hardest injury statement of all time

  1. “He will rise from the ashes”

Book it, comeback player of the year & Defense Player of the year next season.

  2. Hutch is going to break Strahan/Watt’s record next year. Mark my words. Broken legs at his age typically heal to be stronger than ever. You already know he’s going to be motivated and pissed off next season. Especially if Hutch gets some help on the opposite EDGE side, teams won’t be able to double team him anymore. It’s about to be over for opposing o-lines next season.

  3. Reminds me of the poem Invictus

“…In the fell clutch of circumstance.
I have not winced or cried aloud.
    Under the bludgeonings of chance.
My head is bloody but unbowed.”

  4. Note for people who don’t know the motto of the city of Detroit is

    “Speramus Meliora, Resurget Cineribus”

    or

“We hope for better things, It will rise from the ashes”

written by one Fr. Gabriel Richard, the “2nd founder” of Detroit and one of the co-founders who founded the school that would evolve into U of M

it was written after the 1805 fire that razed the city to ground

I think it quite embodies the never give up spirit of many in Detroit

  5. I swear to God I only cry at professional sports stuff. I need therapy.

I love this family–they are all ridiculously gorgeous, the dad is a Dr, the sister is in med school (I think). Just wonderful!!

  6. Y’all remember when Aiden Hutchinson showed up next year and the Lions won the super bowl…do ya?!

  7. “resurget cineribus”

It will rise from the ashes. Little known Detroit lore. Great post.

  8. Hutch just became a Detroit legend.

This injury will just be an interesting wrinkle in a BarrySanders/AlexKarras/NightTrainLane kind of resume.
