After a very emotional ceremony. The game started with a tribute to Johnny Hockey ❤️

Brought to tears. So much emotions. Sending all my prayers to the Gaudreau family.

  1. Rest in Peace Johnny and Matthew. You will be missed but never forgotten. Forever Eagles. Great tribute.

  2. This right here is why I love this sport. Hot streaks, losing streaks, random hockey shenanigans…but when it gets real, the hockey community comes together.

Humboldt bus crash, Adam Johnson, and many more. Whatever team you all cheer for, don’t care, love all you guys on this sub.

    Rest in Peace.

  3. Hockey fans are the best in all of sports. Sending good thoughts from St . Louis. That was so fkn classy. Just amazing tribute. Hope they have a great season.

  4. Don’t hate my twisted comedy mind…

Fucking imagine some rookie getting the nod to be in this moment and he just skates in. Takes the puck and scores… it would be an allowed goal. 1st NHL goal in the first 13 secobds if your nhl career.. and one that would be remembered.

There is a bit in there somewhere.

  5. I saw so many people saying enough is enough but damn I am so impressed how amazing the players and organizations came together each time I see the effort made to remember their brothers in the game of hockey.

  6. A ton of panthers come from the blue jackets so it was very emotional for them too. We did a moment of silence for our home opener and you could hear a pin drop

  7. Am sure I’ll get downvoted on this, but does anyone know if either were wearing helmets, had bike lights, or what the local laws are on bike riding on that type of road at that time of evening?

  8. In times like these there are no teams not states no countries, just a game we all fell in love with together, and we all mourn together when we lose a member of that family especially so sudden. Detroit fan from Michigan shedding some tears for the Gaudreau family, Columbus and all hockey lovers around the world.

  9. 😭 well, I’m not crying at all. That is such a sweet gesture. My heart really goes out to their families.

  10. As a dude of shorter stature, Gaudreau was one of my favorite players. The warmups, then the pregame celebration, and this had me crying. RIP Johnny.

  11. Bally Sports made a half an hour, commercial free tribute show to Johnny, which aired right before the game. It was a very emotional night when you put it all together. 😢
