Should the Texas Rangers consider a Reunion with Jurickson Profar?

The Rangers will more than likely let Travis Jankowski walk in free agency this year. Jurickson Profar can play almost any position on the field, and swung a hot bat last year.

  1. You can’t say no to his bat, but honestly, where would he play? The expectation is that Carter will be back, and you can’t just give up on Garcia yet, especially considering what’s he making.

  2. Profar is a switch hitter that hit .280, 24 HR, and 85 RBI last year he could be a DH/Platoon Outfield/1st baseman when needed. Langford, Carter, Garcia, Lowe will inevitably need days off. Leody is the obvious one holding this up, but he really had a rough season this year both offensively and defensively, and it does not feel safe to bank on him being a major league player on a championship caliber team.

  3. Because of his hot bat this year Profar is going to cost a lot more in free agency than the 1 year 1 MIL he cost this year. Not only that, this year was a career year for a guy that is going into his thirty second year and it’s doubtful he’ll repeat considering his aggregate batting average for his career is about .245. I loved Profar when he was here but it just doesn’t make sense to pay a lot for a 32 year old just because he had a breakout season this late in the game.

  4. Sorry but the Rangers ain’t about to spend a lot of money, until they can start bringing in substantial Revenue they’re not going to be spending a lot of money at all for a couple years. They’re going to signing getting old injury prone players on short-term contracts.

  5. I don’t see any way the Padres let him get away tbh. I would take him back in a heartbeat tho. But to be fair I would say the same about Gallo

  6. Honestly, I think it makes a lot of sense. A 4 horse outfield letting one of Garcia, Langford, Profar, and Carter with a bad back DH is a lot better than watching Jank DH every day lol
