Oilers fans furious with disallowed goal

  1. Goalie interference… should’ve been taken off jamming at a goalies pads and not the puck. No goalie interference, immediately waved off.

I dont think I’ve ever seen in 3 games with so many challenges go against 1 team and ones that should’ve counted be pulled back. What is that now, 5 in 3 games?

Perry had to have done something with a refs wife this season.

  2. as much as I would delight in Edmonton losing every game this season that is a soft ass BS call

  3. Oilers didn’t even show up the first period so I guess these fans gotta blame something.

  4. Wtf are these upvoted commenta saying it’s goalie interference? Hes not in the crease, and the defenseman created all the contact.

  5. It was the correct call, what is happening nowadays?

He ran thru the crease and hit Erssons blocker as the shot comes in…

This is literally a text book goalie interference.

  6. Damn, what’s going on with yall?? I feel like being so close to the shore and not reaching it, has broken this team

  7. I find the crease is too small in hockey. Or it seems too small to me. Because the goalies can’t come out very far, to cut the angle on protected ice. Which might be better for higher scoring games, but maybe not. Goaltenders get caught being farther out more. Or maybe it’s already in the right spot. Idk. I feel like they should have more unfettered space.

  8. Yeah I’m a Canucks fan and the only thing making the start of this season tolerable is watching the Oilers struggle worse than we are. That being said…this is the fucking softest goalie interference I’ve ever seen.

  9. I’ve wondered for a long time, and maybe someone can offer a sensible explanation, if you’re going to disallow a goal, shouldn’t there also be a penalty assessed? if the foul doesn’t rise to the level of a penalty call, the goal should stand

  10. Normally I give the benefit of the doubt on these goalie interference calls, but he is entitled to that space if his feet are outside the crease which they are here until the defender puts pressure on him so I don’t see why this is called off. Even if he does hit Ersson’s glove which I don’t really see it’s due to being pushed into it last moment. I don’t know if they are just being very soft on the goalie interference this year or what, but this is a goalie interference I do not think they would have called last year. Actually thinking back it’s kinda funny this is a goalie interference now but that goal in playoffs that completely turned the tide for the Montreal vs Toronto playoff series where a player was directly in the way of Campbell making the stop wasn’t called goalie interference leading to the infamous Marner delay of game and another goal.

  11. He’s outside the crease, goalie is out at the edge playing aggressive.

    Good goal in my book.

  12. Every die hard Sabres fan from the late 90’s is throwing their remotes at their TV’s after watching the Oilers last few games !! 😂😂

  13. not gonna say which way is right or wrong in this instance, it’s too subjective and it’s already been said. What I will say is this, clarity in the rules are the only path to overcoming controversial decisions like this. Who can say word for word what goaltender interference is, in any situation? it needs to be clear cut. Is it interference if any part of a player touches any part of a goalie? does that change if any part of the goalie is out of the crease? does that change if a player is pushed by another player? let’s set the details of the rule in stone so coaches and players can adjust accordingly. personally i don’t like the reduction in physicality that these stricter goalie interference rules are causing, but as long as everyone is playing with the same restrictions it’s fine. But when you have similar situations being called differently it’s evidence of poor rule design and angers fans. NHL, you know it’s a flaw, we pay you well to fix it, get it done or the conspiracy theorists who say it’s all rigged will continue to shout.
