It was 10 years ago today (Thursday, October 16, 2014) that Travis Ishikawa hit one of the most iconic home runs in franchise history to win the NL pennant. Here’s a lesser known video (not mine) of it and the aftermath.

  1. GOATed moment in SF history. What people forget is how good Ishikawa was down the stretch that year. He was an automatic 3-2 count.

  2. I’ll never forget, was with my buddy and we decided to start chanting “Eee-Shi-Ka-Wa” as he was up to bad and crescendoed into that home run. The joys of fandom

  3. He really should have his name legally changed to Travis Ishikawa Hitsoneintoright Thegiantswinthepennant

  4. Is this the marlin man’s footage? That’s where he usually sits in the playoffs haha

  5. I was lucky enough to be outside the park on my way to the Megabus after another long day at sf state. What an amazing moment to share with people.

  6. I’ll never forget these young teen years of my life. Standing across the water from the park and hearing the game on some random guys radio. Will never forget all the random high fives, dancing, fireworks, THE RAIN, the toilet paper hanging from wires/street lamps, tortillas flying through the air. The smell of weed mixed with beer which always reminds me of the Giants now haha. How together the city felt in these years. And most funny, how I felt like everyone ACTUALLY in the stadium was rich haha. I was there for the playoff games in 2021. Can’t wait for another deep playoff run so I can be one of those people in the stadium now.
