Tom Fitzgerald Additions To The New Jersey Devils Off To a Great Start!

Tom Fitzgerald Additions To The New Jersey Devils Off To a Great Start!

In this video I wanted to thank NJ Devils General Manager Tom Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald was busy this offseason in making key Additions To The New Jersey Devils roster and they are all off To a Great Start. Jacob Markstrom played lights out in the most recent 3-1 win over the Ottawa Senators and started the season off with a 3-2 record. Paul Cotter has 5 goals, 6 points to start the season and has become a fan favorite, Fitzy also brought back Stefan Noesen and Tomas Tatar and they’re off to good starts.
On Defense he traded with the Montreal canadiens to bring in Right Shot Defenseman Johnathan Kovecevic who has shocked Devils fans with how good he’s been, signed Brett Pesce and Brendan Dillon and rounded out our Defensive core. The Devils are currently 1st in to league with 10 points, can they keep it up throughout the year?

  1. Between Jacob, Cotter and Johnny Kovocevic, it's a brand new great world in Devil-land. Of course it's early in the season but there's no law stating everyone would fit in so well so fast. Look at Nashville and their current struggle. I will feel better when NJD defeat some of the best teams but it's still great they have points in the bank. LFGD 💥👍

  2. Cotter and Kovocevic have impressed. Beating Lindy Ruff twice and Travis Green last night is really sweet. The physicality and strong defensive play has been nice to watch. Lets Go Devils!

  3. Yeah I'm feeling good about the team right now. Fitzgerald did a good job recently but I'm not going to forget about him not addressing the goalie situation in time to save last year. I'm sure he did way better than Lou would have done if he was still in NJ. Cotter has been a Superman in some ways. Let's see if he can stick on the 2nd line. Jack has not really turned on yet in my opinion… he's shooting a lot and making great passes but he needs a spark to really get him ignited into 100 point season mode. Maybe Cotter can help with that but I think Coach Keefe told him (and the public) words to that effect. Cotter's scoring is great, but if he can wind-up Jack, we will be running on nuclear power. Markstrom even in games where he loses has made some outstanding saves. I think he needs another month or more to start to get his groove with the current D in front of him.
