  1. All the cocky Mets got what they deserve. That's all I heard where the greatest no one can beat us the Yankees suck. And I'm glad what happened to the Mets.,.😂 Not only that but no one can beat us METS gave up the most runs in postseason history and ad that to your choke history….

  2. It was a hell of a better year than I thought it was gonna be… Thank you Mets and do yourselves a favor (aimed at Steve Cohen) pay Alonso he's one of ours….

  3. Ryan, was there any explanation given as to why Mendoza started JD Martinez and Jose Inglesias over Winker and McNeil in games 3 and 4? They were sure outs in those two games……

  4. Thanks for being there just about every day. I watch several YouTube commentators, but I alway tune to yours first. In my opinion, you are the best one of them all. Glad to have you for at least another year!

  5. The dodgers with their 2 mil ohtani contract allowing them to annually sign an all-star mvp squad for 10 years is gonna be rough but I trust the Mets FO to put in a competitive team for that same amount of time.

I’m super proud of this team and it will go down as one of my favorite Met seasons of all time

  6. moneywise, i don’t think it’s going to be that difficult for the mets to re-sign most of their players incl alonso. also, i think the free agency is going to be similar to last yr.

  7. Carlos Mendoza made so much magic happen this year, I thought he was Walt Disney. I didn't cry last night, when they lost, but with you, here now the next morning, I am weeping for the great year we had. I just wish it did not end.
The swinging at balls & giving up walks is our next challenge

  8. Absolute hell of a run, and all the narratives that came with it. Breakout season by Vientos, and the resurgence of Iglesias. Our kids are starting to pay off. Wouldn't be surprised if Vientos turns into a 35-40 HR player. Hope to see Alonso back and a debut of Sproat next year. Things will definitely come together under Stearns

  9. 2024 Mets will always be one of my favorite teams. Right up there with 1999. All grit and fun. The staff ran out of bullets and it cost them just like in 99.

  10. Congratulations Ryan for a Great LOCKED ON METS 2024!! Congratulations to THE METS for a incredible run, even though They fell short Thank You still!! Thank U and We will be Ready for 2025 LET'S GO METS!! LET'S GO METS!! LET'S GO METS!! 4SURE 4REAL WE ARE THE BEST IN MLB REGARDLESS!!

  11. Two things you can bank on are 1 the Mets trade Jeff McNeil and, 2 The Mets re-sign Sean Manaea. The Mets have too many internal options to bring back McNeil. I think that after his season, Steve Cohen will be willing to pay for Manaea because he brings stability to the rotation.

  12. LFGM. Hopefully the Yankees shut these Dodgers fans up now. They had us beat in their minds before the series even started and now already have the Yankees beat in their feeble little minds. Ugh. Can’t wait to see them crying. 😭

  13. I don't give a $hit about memorable season or giving the fans great moments. In the end, it boils down to the same thing. They did not get it done. Every time they make it deep into the playoffs it's a "No one expected the Mets to make it this far" situation. And that is the problem exactly. No one ever expects it because the Mets are not a championship team. Getting miracle 3 run homers or grand slams every once in a while is not having a championship roster. The Mets have some talent but that's all. Don't let this late season burst make us forget this team is not ready. When the bats fail as they did in several games against the Dodgers they were washed. Because they do not have a championship contending pitching staff. No way in hell can you win a World Series when all you have are inconsistent bats.

  14. Ryan, THANK YOU, buddy, for the excellent work. Your podcast is a tour de force and I’ve enjoyed it daily over the last 1.5 – 2 years. Greetings from Denmark (displaced New Jerseyan)… it was fought tuning into post-season games at 2am but I did it. Because like everyone here I love our Mets !!

  15. Thanks Ryan. You are my "go to" Mets Podcaster. I love the way you back up ideas with stats and you obviously know baseball. You are clearly dedicated to the Locked On series, to the Mets and to the fans. Thanks again from Canada's biggest Met fan. LFGM!

  16. Could you imagine this “Bold Prediction” at the beginning of the year: Mark Vientos will bat 3rd for the Mets in the NLCS. How ludicrous would that have looked, yet it’s what happened. Can’t predict sports.

  18. I have mixed feelings about the Mets because I have very mixed feelings about Mendoza, who I never wanted. He's a clone of his mentor the Bab-Boone. Great motivator, great with people. No feel for in-game management, robotic use of analytics, awful use of the bullpen, pulling the starters way too soon, and giving preference to washed up veterans over hungry young prospects. Let's be honest about this. The Mets got into the playoffs because of having the highest payroll in baseball, just as the Bab-Boone's teams do every season. That doesn't make either of them a great manager.

I would also say it was insane to have Senga on the postseason roster, since he hasn't pitched all year, or J.D. Martinez who hasn't hit in months. Then there's McNeil. I just don't understand the McNeil fan club. Take away the two rabbit ball seasons (2019-20) and in 3 of the next 4 seasons he was a marginal Major Leaguer. He hit around 250 with 10 homers 3 of the last 4 seasons, with mediocre fielding and no foot speed or steals. Surely Acuna could match or outdo all of McNeil's stats from 2021, 2023 and 2024 while outfielding and outrunning him by a mile. One of the most overrated players in MLB, next to another old favorite of Mets fans — Conforto.

  19. What a wonderful man you are, Ryan. The bond I feel with you is like having a brother to talk with. Your dad is to be praised for fetching up a true example of humanity.

  20. @Ryan, want to throw some food for thought at you, especially after listening to your segment on re-signing Pete Alonso.
Fully agree he will be a second pursuit after Soto. However, I would also argue that he is not needed, nor is the large contract. The Mets have enough maturing infield prospects, plus McNeil and Iglesias (obviously cheaper re-sign, slightly weaker bat), that someone should be moved to first.
Additionally, with Clifford in the mix, they have a new, young, promising and very cheap first baseman.
