  1. Gary Cohn typical crystal ball Mets fan. Speaking as a Yankee fan I'm glad what happened to the Mets. That's all the Mets fan said we will be in anybody we will beat the 1927 Yankees. And I'm glad what happened. Enjoy your choke history

  2. Keep Pete! At bats in the playoffs have taught him to be a better AT-BAT! PLUS he's OUR GUY-HOME GROWN! #20 RETIRED in the raptors after he hits HIS 500th Homerun and at LEAST 1 RING! Them off to Cooperstown.

  3. tv revenues have completely collapsed for but a few teams. free agency is likely to be similar to last yr. the mets shouldn't have a hard time re-signing alonso. i think it can be as low as 20 x 3, and as high as 30 x 5. take the avg and round-up… 27.5 x 4 = 110m is my guess.

  4. My goodness, totally forgot about Mauricio. 100% move Vientos to first, Ronny at 3rd. Two young power bats, and the infield defense improves.

  5. There were too many strikeouts when all we needed was a fly ball, hell even a ground out.
He has 2 good months of hitting and does nothing else. Better option in house than the Polar Bear.
Baty at first. Soto in right ,goodbye Marte. We r set.

  6. Better bring back your own guy. Scott Boris shouldn't be a factor. Pay pete finally got an owner who spends don't cheap out. I do remember todd zeile being good replacement for John olurde

  7. Colorado Rockie. They will be the team that over pays Pete. Steve Cohen didn't make Stearns Baseball Ops to keep sitting on the top tier luxury cap.

Also, Baty, Acuna and Maurico need to get burn. Pete's contract will age badly.

I do appreciate everything he has done

  8. Cohen is wrong. Mauricio was NOT a lock to be the Mets' 3B this season. They had 3 candidates with Baty being the leader, that's why he broke camp as the starter and Vientos (unfortunately) was sent down.

  9. Only let him go if you get Soto. Then put Vientos at 1B, play Iglesias at 3B till Baty is ready or Mauricio’s..pitching pitching pitching

  10. It’s really a no brainer. If Pete really wants to stay with the team HE can make it happen. Maybe a small home town discount – for example $100M vice $120M. When you get to that kind of dollars does it really make a big difference?? Will you sacrifice your comfort for a little extra $?

  11. He did more than anyone expected this playoffs with the bat and the glove!
I bet he'll take a little less than other teams might offer to stay!
    Pete's the man!

  12. Prob with letting Pete go, is there arent much guys giving you an easy 30+ bombs. in the post season, his homers were in big spots. hard to find that unless soto is coming. pete is a dh long term. like jd

  13. Gary is right. Mauricio was seen as the best of the three, before he went down with Vientos being the afterthought. Baty is the afterthought now and a trade piece. Mauricio will PROBABLY win the rookie of the year IF healthy. He won the Dominican league MVP which is harder than AAA and was on his way to doing it again, before the freak injury.

  14. Keep Pete, but offer him 180 million for 6 years. No more than that. That is a great offer for someone like him. If another team offers him more than that, then let him go.
