  1. I thought there was to many times where Counsell didn’t hit and run or have someone lay down a bunt when we were going through our cold spell early in the season, he didn’t do things to create a spark. It seemed like he always waited on someone to hit a home run to get us back in the game and we weren’t that kind of team.

  2. You guys make a really good duo for your show. No one else makes this offseason "dead" time so interesting! And absolutely, Craig is too flat and dull, and he needs to show more energy/fire. I also saw that fairly early in the season this year.

  3. I agree with Sam. Been saying it since the start of the season too. Seiya is going to have to blow a gasket, if he ever wants those horrible calls to go away.

  4. I think that firing Ross and hiring Counsel was a mistake. I think that the players were behind Ross and felt betrayed when he was fired. They seemed to play harder for Rossy.

  5. If we say that a manager is worth 2-4 wins/losses, could it be argued that Ross turned an 85-87 win team into an 83 win team, and with the offense and bullpen he had this year, Counsell took a 79-81 win team to an 83 win team?

  6. Counsel said that he was sticking with Nerris as the closer, then immediately demoted him. What the hell was that? He should've been demoted long before that!

  7. Sam, if he managed a better season than Ross, he is better. How can you expect him to get to 90 wins with the injuries, blown saves, and putrid offense? Also, this year he was in new guy observer mode. The issue is the roster. C- seems low if you admit managers don't impact much. Next, Murphy was his mentor and bench coach. The Brewers were not gonna lose more by losing him. We need a better roster. This is what the Cubs did with Maddon. Overpay a guy hoping to change the culture. Question: what makes $40 million worth it? A World Series title?

  8. I’m giving Craig a mulligan for this past season. Now he knows his way around and he knows what we’ve got and what we need. Next season he’s got to deliver a playoff team or his hire will start to look bad.

  9. The myth that Counsel is the best manager in baseball is exactly that: a myth. Another example of how, in the name of intelligent spending, Jed overspends in the wrong areas.

  10. I feel if they had their closer, we would be praising Councell. I see at least 8-10 games better. Councell had to work with 50 different
closers. No manager should have to deal with that. Thats like different players playing positions they're not comfortable playing.

  11. If Suzuki was a Yankee or Dodger, they’d have stopped screwing Suzuki on the outside corners LAST SEASON. No way Boone or Roberts stands for that crap tbh.
