The last time the Yankees were in a World Series, bullpen games weren’t a thing, Sully Sullenberger was landing jet planes in the Hudson River, and Derek Jeter was still five years away from retirement. The Dodgers haven’t won a World Series with fans at full capacity in the stands since people made their crushes mix tapes, the disks were still floppy, Kirk Gibson hobbled around first base and Orel Hershiser became allergic to allowing runs. This World Series match-up of coastal behemoths may have seemed inevitable but it has, in fact, been a rarity in the expanded playoff era.

  3. Brodie Brazil. This is going to be the greatest World Series. New York Yankees Vs Los Angles Dodgers. It's Yankees big 3 Aaron Judge, Juan Soto, and Giancarlo Stanton vs Dodgers big 3 Shohie Othani, Mookie Betts , and Freddie Freeman. It's going to 7 games and New York Yankees wining it. I'm rooting for the Yankees because I'm a SF Giants fan.

  4. Uh it's gonna be so annoying hearing how great NY and LA are. I'm more of a Chicago midwest kinda guy. That said, go Dodgers. If Ohtani doesn't come in and pitch (vs Judge hopefully) whole thing is a bust.

  5. Just wanted to point out that this is not a "World Series". The hubris of declaring the land mass between L.A. and New York as the "World" when no other .countries participate, is uniquely an attribute of big shot Americans.

  10. I saw a meme where there was a map of the US. Marking who is cheering for who. South California and Massachusetts were cheering for the Dodgers, New York and Florida was cheering for the Yankees. The rest of the country was cheering for an incoming asteroid. Go Asteroid!!!! I could not care who wins, I probably will not watch a minute of the World Series.

  12. I’m a West Coaster, and an NL guy. They were my mom’s favorite team. I’ve always rooted for the Dodgers in the Series, since the 70s. I like Judge, but I am also annoyed because the Yankees won the AL, not the Guardians (I want the Cleveland Curse of Rocky Colavito to end!).

  13. Don't care. I don't have cable TV so couldn't watch any of the playoffs, so why should I give a damn about the WS that now they will make available on Fox network antenna TV. No interest here at all.

  14. This is the matchup the league wanted not the fans, I remember when I was in London partying with my new team the Phillies the league chose to focus on the Yankees & Dodgers over growing the league in a market that has a fan community for all 30 teams
