Ok That Was a LITTLE Rough… | Montreal Canadiens vs NY Rangers Recap
I go over the goals, penalties, plays and give my opinions about the game tonight. It was a rough one but I pull out some silver linings for Habs fans that I hope resonate with you all. Please let me know your thoughts.

So it was a pretty tough one tonight, but what were your silver linings in tonights game? And you're not allowed to all say "ANOTHER TOP 5 DRAFT SPOT LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL LMAO BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA", you gotta say something else. Or I'll find you… in the comments and probably respond to your comment with "You stinker 🦨"
I just found your channel a few weeks ago, really enjoying your habs videos! We really missed slaf tonight and I hope we can see some improvements in the Canadiens systems
If Arber finds his game balance, I’d keep him in the lineup. The 11, 17, 71 line has been clamoring for since last season. Nice to see it work.
Also, just not going to talk about the 79 team celebration? There was a great moment at the end when the photog couldn’t get the player’s attention. Side note, the Habs rarely play well on a celebration night. Anyway, good stuff.
Positive, Anderson saved the most goals tonight with 2. Suzuki getting 2 goals. In games like that one I like watching the young ones: Kapanen, Heineman, Hutson, Mailloux, Struble, Barron.
Concentration was not at its peak during that disaster so I had other thoughts.
-Was Dach surgery a success or does he need another one ?
– Might be good for Engstrom to have Lindstrom with him in Laval. I hope we see him for a cup of coffee this season.
-It shows how much growth is still needed.
-What happens when Harvey-Pinard comes back in 3 weeks ?
-Primeau learned between the 1st and 2nd that he could help his defense by stopping some pucks behind the net.
-Xhekaj is probably going to Laval when the others are healthy.
-They might still be in the search for an entire 2nd line, will someone please stand up ! otherwise all the eggs are in the Demidov-Hage-Laine basket.
-Guhle is that important to this team.
Finally, I hope Barron is ok.
It was awful. I have no faith in our goaltending or are defense. The only silver lining might be Suzuki find his stride. Hope you are feeling better I agree with your assessment on xhekaj, but xhekaj needs to get better in his play. We don't have the depth to play a physical player that makes mistakes on plays.
Great show 👏
2nd goal should have been called icing, heads went down..
I honestly found the offense in the first period good from everybody
I couldn’t agree more about Evan’s. Everything he is doing this year is a win for me. Also Gally is also impressing the absolute hell out of me this season. Just working their butts off.
Agree, Wifi adds a little something to this team. He’s the heart and soul. We need his toughness.
It is ironic that the hit was on Barron … with arber on the bench. This hit main contact was the head. Arber hit was to the chest and stuzle hit himself with his stick. Two number 2 goalie doesn’t equal a number one. The only number one we have is the pick at the end of the season.
St Louis is proving the importance of strategy by implementing none.
He called the Rangers offensive a carnival but everyone saw the Habs d as circus 🎪.
Just another example of MSL's great coaching and motivational style. Do you really think that Slaf and Ghule would of made a difference to the outcome? Next headline for your show "Habs sing the Blues'" 72 points this year 30-40-12.
Nick scored. One silver lining. Ugly game otherwise
The game was lost in the first minutes – as the underdog, you just can't give up 0-1 that early…develops into a disaster more often than not. Can't blame the goalie, but a couple of the goals looked saveable… Good on Suzuki to get going, any case. 🙂 Montreal needs something; might be on the spiritual side of things. Patrik Laine was supposed to bring the extra magic 🙁 Seems last season is threatening to repeat, even if it's early days yet…hmmm… Next game will be kind of critical.
Brightspot is character building for the D
Watching the ceremony before the game I was like: "The Rangers are not going to ruin this, we are winning this one tonight" 😂
MSL is pathetic.
Yes Barron was low and so was Dumbass but what happened to the hit to the head call, is the call no longer in vogue. Yet another Dman out, the musical chair continues, It is pretty tough to get any consistency with so many rookie Dman mistakes.
This wasn’t just bad. It was pathetic. Sure, there are individual bright spots but there aren’t team bright spots. Individuals alone won’t get it done.
I don’t think that you’re wrong about the hit but I do believe a rule change (or interpretation) is required. If Trouba had gotten the same punishment as Xhekaj it might be more acceptable but I’m thinking the only to stop the predatory behaviour is to add game misconduct penalties more liberally.
Nice finding a channel that finds positives ❤
If Trouba has a reputation of dirty hits… then how come he's not penalized for them? Because the hits are NOT dirty!!! They are HARD, yes… but NOT dirty. If you watch post game analysis, u see former players ALL saying the hits are clean.
Ranger fan here – I come not to troll, but to remind you all: Jeff Gorton was fired by the Rangers BECAUSE his teams were too soft. The Habs' owners are gonna figure this out soon enough too.
