  1. Pete Alonso 8. He is a great Met who loves the fans and the fans love him. He will finish his career with 600+ HRs IMO and he's just the kind of guy you want in your organization for the long haul. Also he's home grown and there aren't a lot of Pete Alonso's that come along in your history. According to baseball-reference through age 29 he is similar to Mark McGwire, Matt Olson, and Cecil Fielder…some pretty nice names. I think in this day and age if he is probably worth 10yr/300million, but if you can get him for 7-8 yrs at 225-250 million go for it. You're not paying strictly for number with Pete, you're paying for intangibles.

Manaea 6. Sean is a good clubhouse presence and a decent pitcher. But the last time he pitched this much in a season his ERA in the next season was 4.96. Even though he had the best season of his career this year I still think he is a middle of the rotation kind of guy, so to sign him for 4yrs/$100 million would be a pretty big strain signing other people. He his scheduled to make 13.5 million this year and I think that is on the low end of what a guy like he is worth. Had a big year so I'd say if they can get him back for 18 million or less, go for it.

  2. Pete might remember what Darryl Strawberry said this summer – that he regretted chasing the money as a FA and apologized to the Zmets fans for leaving.

  3. Manaea is a 8 or 9 for me. He clearly hit something with the arm angle change, but there’s still the unknown and resume which gives the Mets leverage. They can strike a great deal for a potential 2 or 3 guy for less then market for the same position. Plus he loves the Mets.

Pete I think is big for the Mets. Solid 7 depending on the price.

  4. This is what happens when you have DEI hires and let women on these panels. Clueless and an eye/ear-sore to watch and listen to. Duquette was being friendly using a 5 if you put him to a lie detector he would probably say 1 or 2. All they should do with Manea is say thnk you and good luck with the rest of your career. You're going to overpay for a guy who is not that good and give him extra years for no reason as well. Mets should be 100% out on Manea. If you can learn anything in MLB it's you don't get emotional/sentimental in signing guys who have 1 good year for you. Imagine these DEI hires running an actual franchise? lol.

  5. If pete wants to stay here will stay but I think he's chasing the money, as a mets fan I think he leaves and that tells me you're greedy and don't care for fans it's all about the money, manea is only good for 2 years I dant see him pass that
