What’s Wrong with the Canadiens?

Welcome back to another episode of the Habs Notebook Show with Coach Frenchy, Marko, and special guest Franck! Tonight, we’re breaking down the Montreal Canadiens’ struggles after 7 games this season (2-4-1). Fans are getting impatient, and it’s no secret that both the defense and goaltending have been major issues. From missed coverages to soft goals, the Canadiens’ defensive zone play has been one of the biggest concerns.

We’ll be discussing what’s going wrong on the ice, including the inconsistency from Montembeault and Primeau, and how the young defensemen, like Mailloux and Hutson, have struggled to adapt. Is the problem with the man-to-man system, or are we missing key veteran leadership on the blue line? And what about the impact of injuries to players like Juraj Slafkovsky, Guhle, Laine—how is that affecting the team?

We’ll also dive into possible solutions: Should the Canadiens adjust their defensive system? Could we see lineup changes or new strategies to improve their game? It’s time to explore all the options.

Join the conversation, share your thoughts, and help us find answers to the Canadiens’ problems. Don’t forget to subscribe, like, and be part of the passionate Habs Nation as we try to figure out how to turn this season around!”
