GAME RECAP: Penguins at Oilers (10.25.24) | Pittsburgh Plays the First of Back-to-Back Games
The Penguins’ road trip continued on to Edmonton, where the home team started out strong. Rookie goaltender Joel Blomqvist faced and stopped 19 shots in the opening period. In the 2nd period, Draisaitl gave the game its first goal. Shortly after, Bouchard increased the Oilers’ lead to 2-0. In the 3rd period, it only took 16 seconds for Nugent-Hopkins to score his first goal of the season. A tally from Ekholm ended the scoring, with Edmonton winning, 4-0. Blomqvist stopped 46 of 50 shots, a save percentage of 0.920.
