  1. I think this game had a whole bunch of weird stuff that worked against the leafs. McCabes penalty for interferance when up 1 – 0 (led to pasta goal) and then McMann and Nylander coff up the puck. I agree that both guys made a mistake on the OT goal. Mathews looked over his shoulder and it looked like Marner was turning back (You could see marner thinking about it in the replay) but then it looked like Mathews was goin to carry the puck behind the net (becasue he was trying to sell that once he thought Marner was comming back) unfortunately he sold it to Mitch too. Just bad luck.

  2. I never like commenting on things, but as a Bruins fan, I have to disagree with Steve on the physicality part. Leafs out hit the Bruins 27-20 and block shots were close. And by the 3rd period, there was a lot of clutching, grabbing, and stick work from both teams. This felt the most like a playoff game of any game from Boston this year.

  3. I think it's fair to say that Boston own the Leafs right now. Like, they're in their heads, playing around with them like an evil puppeteer. I mean, it's Gerry Anderson's marionettes on ice!!

  4. The problem with the Leafs isn’t that they’re not good enough, rather they’re TOO GOOD. Every coach they’ve had basically tells them the same thing… play the right way and you can win whenever you need to. They kept saying “we don’t need to do that, watch this” and proceeded to score lots of goals/points and put up 105+ point seasons playing perimeter hockey. As teams dial in their game the goals and wins come less often. When there’s space or lanes they have nothing. Over the last couple of years they’ve slowly gotten more physical in terms of hitting, but they still don’t want to spend any time in front of the net. Dgmw, they will do fly-bys … but they don’t spend enough time there to be there when the puck gets there. We don’t get goalie’d. Their goalie sees EVERYTHING because there’s rarely anyone there to take his eyes away. In the NHL they stop every shot that’s not absolutely perfect. And then they lose the race to every rebound because the defender already in front of the net wins every race to pucks against guys racing in from the perimeter. Until they hate losing enough to pay the price to camp out in the dirty areas they will continue to lose when it counts.

  5. I dont want marner or tavares on this team after their contracts expire. As a long time leafs fan, im just done with them. Marner is such a spoiled crybaby who can't take pressure and folds so easily.
