The Maple Leafs just embarrassed themselves

The Toronto Maple Leafs fell to the Boston Bruins 4-3 in overtime during their October 26, 2024 matchup. Brad Marchand scored the game-winning goal for the Bruins, ending their three-game losing streak. Auston Matthews tied the game for the Maple Leafs late in the third period, but it wasn’t enough to secure a win. The game was highly competitive, with David Pastrnak contributing a goal and an assist for Boston, while Mitch Marner recorded three assists for Toronto. Despite a strong effort from the Leafs, the Bruins ultimately came out on top in a thrilling overtime finish.

  1. Bro Eck stop exaggerating this loss lmao. It was a communication error between Matthews and marner and both were tired, we came back and got a point, but the powerplay sucked ass. They didnt embaress themselves, I dont think if the rangers did that, you wouldn't be saying they embaressed themselves, thats all im saying

  2. You are grossly misinformed. Stop with the hot takes and biased BS. It was a great game that went to OT. Rat marchand aint even score a goal yet. Plus the rangers look like new born horses on ice still suckling their mothers teet.

  3. frankly, that game was a coaching issue. the PP is horrid, offensively the leafs look deflated, and they are so disjointed. Berube let the pressure get to his head. this team still needs consistency, Keefe never gave it and now Berube is following. Only consistency for the leafs is they never know whos coming over the boards with them or how they'll play.

  4. We just don’t have the “dog” in us like literally every other professional team in any sport does. The energy is always low and it feels like our players treat it like a 9-5 they hate. Watching the playoffs really made me envy other teams because their players were TRYING

  5. Sports millionaires living the life of a celebrity in Toronto. Hockey is just an afterthought. Marchand hasnt scored a goal in 8 games. Of course he will score the tie goal. Thats how the hockey gods roll.

  6. The Leafs and Bruins have a rivalry like brothers with a big age difference do. The Bruins are the teenager constantly beating up on the 8 year old younger brother.

  7. Wait, Eck. Are you telling me… flips through notebook the Leafs lost to the Bruins in Boston? Unbelievable turn of events. Nothing like this has ever happened or will ever happen again.

  8. Nah, this is nothing compared to how well the Leafs can embarrass themselves, especially against Boston. This was just quite literally a typical Leafs showing.
