You know the West Coast teams like to recruit Japanese or Asian baseball players. You know for the Mets since we have rich owner, I just wish he can build Mets academies in 🇿🇲🇹🇳🇿🇦🇸🇳🇳🇬🇬🇼🇬🇳🇨🇲🇨🇮🇧🇼🇳🇦🇬🇭🇲🇦🇬🇫🇩🇿 and get these African talents out of them and recruit them and it be the Africa Mets. These countries are close to NY then the west coast so why not. Do something unique. Look at DR Puerto Rico Venezuela and how the academies help develop young talents and their skills so if they can do it why not the Africa countries. Give it a go what can go wrong. Mets can do something no other team has ever done
If the METS are willing to spend over $500 million on one player, they would be better off spending that money resigning ALONSO, signinh CORBIN BURNES and ANTHONY SANTANDER and a reliever. Then they shpuld acquire GARRET CROCHET anf BRENT ROOKER who plays outfield and can DH. ROOKER hit .291, over 40 hrs and over 100 rbis..

I f the Mets can land Soto they can replace Alonso with a more disciplined contact/ power hitter
To start, I’d sign Soto, resign Manea, retain Winker, trade McNeil, let Alonso walk and sign Christian Walker.
I have never in my 30 years of fandom wanted a player on the Mets more than I want Soto. I would do whatever it takes to make him a Met.
Gonna be an off season for the ages. Question is will be strike early or is this going like last year and wait till a month before season starts. Nothing before winter meetings which last few have been nothing of note. IMO we waiting a while before anything happens

Letting alonso walk would hurt more than any player since Darryl Strawberry. I'm not even saying we can't be as good or better. I'm saying psychologically, from a fan perspective. It would feel like Letting David Wright walk during his prime.
