  1. I've never forgotten this. Years ago at the very height of the dead puck era I was at a pub and the game on TV was b/n the Devils and the Islanders. I'm pretty sure that at least half of that game was played in the neutral zone. Made watching curling seem like an adrenaline rush.

  2. as an isles fan since 04'. I called the shutout in the first period. I can just tell when this team is not scoring no matter what. Fell asleep during the 2nd and woke up to watch the third period, only to watch what I knew was coming.

  3. You said it yourself a win a is win,and when you said red wings fans aren’t pleased with the end result even though we won, those are the delusional negative fans who have no heart in this team and make delusional clueless comments when they lose and have no faith in yzerman or lalonde whatsoever F THE HATERS

  4. 10 shots what the actual f 🤣 Islanders has been a boring team for years but to beat them in their own game like this is just hilarious.

  5. Back in the 90s a lot of teams played the neutral zone trap during the clutch and grab era. You'd often have one team playing the trap against another team playing the trap. That was painful to watch.

  6. Haha this is funny because the other day I was just going off about how I wish the islanders didn’t exist. They are the most boring team ever. There is just NOTHING exciting about them. And they stay with the same style every single year. The playoffs when Tampa had to play them twice was the only playoff series where I just couldn’t stand to watch the nothingness that occurred. I hate when any team I cheer for plays them cause you know the game is going to suck no matter what. Would rather watch any other team. At least the bottom teams have exciting players to keep an eye on. Anyway sorry for the rant I just can’t stand them. Glad Detroit won

  7. I guess you missed the boring ass clutch and grab trap days of the mid 90's-2004? Or go watch the boring as fk 2003 playoffs as nj trapped to another cup and quacks trapped wild to death to like 3 shut outs one goal in a sweep. Boringest series ever. Or watch '96 pen/fla series and see fla. clutch trap grab mario and jagr to death a series after those two combined for 23 goals in a series win over rags. Boring game-yes. Most boring game ever? No fkn way. Bettman the clueless mot0n let clutch grab trap hockey get out of hand when he could have put rules in to stop it or ban it. A wasted 10 year dead puck era thanks to bettman.

  8. If Detroit is sitting bottom 2 in Atlantic and bottom 10 in league by the time the 4nations tournament takes place, see if Calgary will take Compher as a right shot center. He’s a bit older than they are looking for, and I love the guy but we have such a log jam at center and we need to make space for Kasper and for Danielson later. I don’t really care what the return is in this hypothetical. As long as we move him without having to give anything up to do so

  9. Hopefully the Red Wings don't run Lyon into the ground again this season. He doesn't seem to be able to handle the workload of a starter and is 1 of the best backups but only good for 20-25 games it seems

  10. I started watching hockey during Probert’s Wings run. Instantly fell in love with the team and hockey. I understand times change but this is not even remotely close to the sport I fell in love with. The league and the team..so completely boring. Hardly any hits, even fewer fights. Sure there’s a lot of speed but I always was more drawn to the passion and rivalries. I think I finally came to terms with the fact that it’s over. Nothing lasts forever and man it was awesome while it was good. But yea , the Wings in particular are painfully boring to watch. After last game i threw in the towel and just stick to watching old games (90s through early 00s) on YouTube.

  11. Maybe its just the goalie in me but after the 1st, I was on the edge of my seat the rest of the game, once there was 5 minutes left and saw we still only had 10 shots I was hoping we didnt get anymore. I wanted to see Lyon steal that shit so bad.

I know full well this is not how you win hockey games but from time to time i find it fun

  12. To think, you could’ve left the game just 10 minutes in and wouldn’t have missed a thing. Imagine all the chores you could’ve got done around the apartment in that time.

  13. Red Wings look out of misplaced and like they couldn’t be bothered. I strongly believe it’s a coaching issue. This team isn’t built for Fester’s system. They’re so focused on defense and scared to mess up, They’re offensive creativity is gone.

  14. Watching any games now is beyond garbage. Any hit is analyzed and questioned. What happened to a guy's sport ? Oh I know it became pussy woke baby shit. Bob Nystrom could still wreak havoc
