NJ Devils Beat Anaheim Ducks 6-2 | Duck Hunting Complete

The New Jersey Devils defeated the Anaheim Ducks by a score of 6-2 at Prudential Center in Newark, NJ on 10/27/24.

The NJ Devils snapped their 4 game losing streak before heading onto their Western Canada road trip where they will take on the Vancouver Canucks, Calgary Flames, and Edmonton Oilers.

– Kurtis MacDermid is once again in the lineup and has another amazing scrap!

– Despite giving up the first goal, the Devils stuck to their gameplan and went on to dominate the Ducks.

– Offseason acquisitions Stefan Noesen and Paul Cotter continue to contribute on the scoresheet.

– Jack Hughes got his 3rd goal of the season.

– Captain Nico Hischier continued his offensive explosion, scoring his LEAGUE LEADING *9th* goal of the season. This man is a beast! Is there some hardware in his future?

– Curtis Lazar was injured during this game. Who will step into the lineup in his absence?

– Is this team turning the corner under new Head Coach Sheldon Keefe?

I discuss all of this and more in this video.

Let me know your thoughts in the comments.

  1. I was at that game last night. My first ever hockey game; as a Ducks supporter I felt kind of bad for them, but as a Devils fan I was delighted. That was a great comeback and just what we needed considering the Ducks beat us twice last season

  2. Great game for the Devils last night. It was just what they needed , obviously, after the 4 game skid. 2 of those games they probably should have won considering they dominated better parts of them. Once the defense fires on all cylinders and our goalies stop cosplaying VV, we are good. Top lines are turning it up. Bottom 6 are killing it. Feeling good for the rest of the season. In Nico we trust.
    LGD!

  3. Very fucking good win, Marky let in a softy but didn't let it fuck him up and the boys didn't let him get peppered, strong play through and through, didn't fall apart after that second goal and power play, all on home ice before hitting the road, also loved that Keefe praised them for their hard work but kept them accountable about the third period, absolutely love him

  4. I went to the game last night and had a great time. Right off the bat when I saw Arlette was in the building and sang the National Athem I knew it was going to be a good night. The Ducks scored the first goal, and everyone thought here we go again. The boys didn't let up and it was refreshing knowing their Goalie was struggling they were there and every turn helping him out. I think were only going to get better and a road trip maybe just what the doctor ordered to get on a roll. Let's go Devils!

  5. As for your hat-trick planning thing, every time someone scores two goals I do the same. Start judging the distance to the ice, is it easier to go over the netting or around it? My biggest problem with hat tricks came after I got a "hat-hat" that I refuse to throw if there is a hat-trick. However I also think you should get ejected for being a bad fan if you don't toss your hat, so I have an old Devils hat (snap back with the snaps broken) I'll stack them together for games so I can wear the "hat-hat" while having a hat that I'm willing to part with.

  6. Macdermid needs to play every game. He gives confidence to the other Devils. He's literally the great equalizer. I hope that Keefe continues playing him and now sees Macdermids boost in confidence to the team and the fear he puts in the other players.

Props to Noesen. Guy plays his heart out. He has the aggressiveness that a lot of our guys lack.

  7. Why they waited 11 games to start utilizing MacDermid is beyond me. How so-called Devils fans shit on him is beyond me too. The guy is the backbone of the Devils toughness. He proves it every time he gets on the ice. Hasn’t been a burden and soon I feel he is going to get some points if he continues to get 9+ minutes of ice time. Park the man in front of the net and let him do more than just breaking faces.

  8. Good response by the group, it's the Ducks so let's not get too crazy, but it's what they needed. Let's see if they continue this or fall back on old ways. MacDermid gives the skilled guys more space which is needed by this group. Old Time Hockey! I'm glad it's still in the NHL no matter how much the newer fans want it to be over. Players legislate the game on the ice and it's always better when they do so. To all the "I need to see more" people, has Mercer "proven it" yet?

  9. Love the content Ace, but please check out your mic's recording volume! It seems fine when you're live, but recent recordings have me raising the volume to the max just to hear you….and then hitting the ceiling when you play a sound bit or an ad starts. LGD!
