7. I think the missing piece to the niners defense is greenlaw. Once hes back i think they will start dominating. I heard a rumor about a trade for buckner. That wouldnt hurt. Should have never let him go

8. The offense will be fine with everyone except Aiyuk back. The main issues with the 49ers are the defense and special teams. They haven't faced any great offenses, yet they're ranked 17th in opponent ppg. How are they gonna stop Detroit?

18. The 49ers not so secret weapon has been their stellar 2024 rookie class. Dominick Puni, Ricky Pearsall, Jacob Cowing, Isaac Guerendo, Malik Mustapha, Renardo Green have all made not just contributions to help tread water until the injured starters return, but have made BIG plays. They're getting super-valuable practice and game time, so that when the injured starters return the backup depth will have a much higher floor and ceiling. And not just this year's rookie class, but this year's FA's/trades/pickups were also very good: Maliek Collins, Sam "O" Okuayinonu, both emergency kickers they had to pick up – all surprisingly good. They've been messy and disorganized and sloppy at times, but you're not going to get the same honed team with lots of rookies and new players that just haven't had time to gel and really learn the playbook and get the timing down with Purdy yet, like the stars have. But the future is very bright with this team as we can all see them starting to pull it together. And THAT should be scary for other teams as we go into the 2nd half of the season.
