This trade would be good if we can trade someone like Anderson or Dvorak for him. Other than that I would not trade many prospects for him.
No more than a 2025 2nd
They need some second line help badly. I would offer Dvorak and Calgary 1st rd pick. Put zegraa as second line center and in 1 month or so laine come back and you could have a second line of dach and and laine on the wing and zebras as center
If we assume that Hughes really tried to trade for Zegras, then I would trust him to underpay.
At this point, I would go ahead with a first- and second-round pick but nothing more. Mailloux is playing better every game, while Zegras is stagnating.
No thanks
He’s gonna trade Reinbacher for Zegras.
And what do they do with Demidov next year? Demidov will be on the second line with Laine and Dach, do you put Zegras on the third line?
not that I want that kind of trade, but if Anaheim are after big and tough guy, I could imagine Xhekaj being the asset being trade (with a draft pick like a 2nd one)
Ughhh not again…
no thanks, ive always thought zegras is overrated and overhyped
Any players Montreal brings in must fit into the systems they are building, thinking theses systems will be fully implemented in a couple years.
Zegras is a diminishing trouble making player making $5.75 million a year for the next two years who is unhappy about it. They will have trouble extracting assets for him. Yes Here we will give you Dvorak to take this problem off your hands.
We need physical players not outdoor rink superstars
I'd rather we not touch Zegras at this point, we are already taking bets on a few players bouncing back without adding a new one to the mix.
Send Anderson down to Laval to "find his game"
Dach might retire on the spot if you stuck those 2 weirdos beside him. Could you imagine how terrible having Laine and Zegras in the same dressing room or at practice would be the team would implode with in weeks.
After seeing Mailloux start, I want to see him improve a bit before we move him. He has a higher ceiling as it stands than Struble and Barron because we just havent seen him enough.
If the asks is Barron + 1st, i think we do it. If its struble + 1st, lets do it. If its Mailloux + 2nd, probably do that too. Our defense will sort itself out, but we need to take some risks at acquiring top end forward talent.
Just for fun, this could be an interesting line-up in the near future…
Caufield—Suzuki—Demidov
Laine—Hage—Slafkovsky
Heineman—Zegras—Dach
F. Xhekaj—Beck—Kapanen
Tuch—Mešár
Gulhe—Reinbacher
Hutson—Mailloux
A. Xhekaj—Engstrom
Struble
Jacob Fowler
Jakub Dobeš
Dvorak, Heineman and a 2025 2nd
