Extend extending him is the first move you make as soon as you can. Max is gone guys lol
Schwellenbach is awesome and has a winniing attitude. AA really needs to give him a 5-6 year contract soon. FRIED IS GONE. GO BRAVES 2025
The reason why they likely wouldn't tender him a contract this year, is it would push his AAV up into that 10ish million dollar area. If they have any aspirations at getting below the luxury tax for one year, having his AAV sitting at $760,000 over $10ish million would be far more helpful at getting under the tax threshold.
By Fried and Morton leaving there saving plenty of money. Take care of the kid it will cost much more later. Look at Acuna and Albies make sure there Brave’s for life.
Don't sleep on the power of an early 20s body. I think jumping 100 innings in workload is a lot more believable for Schwellenbach than for Sale and Lopez. They are the ones I'd be more concerned about. Schwellenbach is what 23-24? His body will fully recover over the off-season. Heck when I was his age I got hit by a minivan and I was running 20Ks and back at 100% in about 3 months. You heal fast at that age and build strength even faster.
One bit of credit I think is not given enough in Braves country is how much of a part Sean Murphy's game calling ability plays in our pitcher's success. Not to take away from d'Arnaud because he's good too but pitchers have something like a full run lower ERA throwing to Murphy and that counts a lot when tou have a guy like Schwellenbach who came up and adapted so fast, and a guy like Sale who famously has never selected his own pitch a single time in his life. Having a guy like Murphy who's a top tier game manager is critically important.
