The smart play for the Mets would be to sign Juan Soto, sign reclamation project SP's (Walker Buehler/Matthew Boyd) to 1yr contracts, try to trade Jeff McNeil to the DBacks for Jordan Montgomery's one year remaining contract along with signing a few more RP's to minor league deals with invites to spring training. I would let Alonso walk and shift Vientos to 1B for the 25' season. The Mets could have Baty, Acuna and whomever they can sign to a 1yr deal, compete for the 3B job. Now, the reason I wouldn't go nuts on spending this off-season, is because next year's class is going to be remarkable. Imagine the Mets signing Soto now and then signing Vladimir Guerrero Jr, Kyle Tucker & Luis Arraez next off-season??? That's how you build a championship contender. You're talking about a core that would include Lindor, Soto, Guerrero & Tucker. Then, the Mets continue to draft & develop pitchers, like Brandon Sprout.
