This was a complete DISASTER from the Canucks….

The Vancouver Canucks lose to the New Jersey Devils by a lot in the Hughes Bowl. Arturs Silovs has struggled, Elias Pettersson still hasn’t found his stride, JT Miller got benched from the powerplay and the Canucks just need to flush this one as they look to move on to a road trip starting against the San Jose Sharks.

  1. My thoughts:

Juuslen is HORRIBLE. I have no clue why he's playing.

    Nobody showed up.
Silovs is exploitable and rusty. Nothing like the playoffs.
Petey wasn't given chances to succeed.

    Nobody was awake.
The players should refund the tickets, 100%.

  2. Vancouver, Edmonton and Toronto all have the same problem. Each has one player making a superstar salary, which leaves less for top defensemen. McDavid and Mathews are superstars when they aren't injured. The other guy thinks he's a superstar.

  3. Devils fan here. Part of me was happy for the dominant victory, but I know Thanksgiving at the Hughes house is going to be interesting.

You guys are a good team. Bad night for you. Best of luck next time… just not against us 👹

  4. Elephant in the room – Petey is overpaid. I don't think his contract is going to doom the Canucks to irrelevance, it's just a couple extra million that they'll have to work around. Additionally, Tocchet's losing my faith a little bit as a coach. Still love you Rick

  5. I think Petey is struggling with some psychological. Anxiety and fight or flight (freezing) can totally screw someone up. There’s a way to get out of it. But there’s some pressure leading to anxiety. I know what it feels like when playing sports. You can’t play. Your pre-frontal cortex is offline and the limbic system is in control. He also could have experienced something traumatic that gets triggered and again, fight or flight or freeze. Its hard to understand because it doesn’t “make sense” but it actually does make sense if thats what we are witnessing. And he may not be connected to himself to get whats going on inside either. Sports and being human are tough. Petey is still in there. He needs to see a therapist

  6. Petey firing a wide open shot straight into Markstrom’s crest was this game in a nutshell. Isn’t this supposed to be one of the best hockey players on the planet with a close to 100M contract?? I could’ve made a better shot than that!!
