The Boston Bruins Look Bad | Bruins Game 11 Recap

The Boston Bruins lose 8-2 to the now 7-2-0 Carolina Hurricanes. The Bruins got outshot 37 to 15 and hit the Hurricanes 32 to 12, but as Andy Brickley said on the broadcast, it looked like they were playing in quicksand. Not one player played better or worse than the other out there.

Swaymna was pulled, and the Bruins had an NHL record set against them in this one.

  1. There’s no “structure, details, or even the basic fundamentals!” This team right now ( I hate to say it) is just “pathetic!” I’m at a loss. Every time I think about what else they can do, it makes my head hurt. I’m from Boston & have been following them for 59 years. I’ve never seen them this bad this early.

  2. I think the coaches and players-really feeling the heat. The players are gripping their sticks and just always look a step behind. The line changes are not the solution, they kind of look out of shape.i had to switch off the game at 6-2. I can’t offer you a solution to this, I’m at a loss. A year ago this team was 9-0-1 after ten games. The defense around their own goal look like caution cones doing nothing to protect Swayman.

  3. JV vs Varsity practice.. thats what it looks like. they make back up goalies allstars on the other team. last night was so gross. FLA and CAR 2 teams i cant stand and they own the bruins.

  4. I honestly don't think you can stop at Montgomery with the purge that is needed from this team. This team is all Sweeney's making; his FA signings aren't paying off, his trade history is very spotty, and his drafting is certainly sub-par. I'm not saying Monty isn't culpable for some of this, but Sweeney needs to shoulder a large chunk of the blame for this abysmal start. Neely needs to either do what's in the best interest of the organization, or resign so someone else can.

  5. The Neely blueprint of having the biggest team in the league is really working well…….step behind almost every team, very limited skill, disappearing acts. I think the blame falls mostly on Neely and Sweeney, then the players, then Monty. And if we fire Monty – we'll likely just have an internal replacement that has a similar system…Woof.

  6. I said this around the 3rd or 4th game of the season. Lot of new players. The team needs to find their identity. And you only have a small window to do so before it slips away.
Right now it’s slipping away. Whatever system they are trying to use isn’t working out. I think the Coach needs to go. Not saying it’s all his fault. But your not trading away 5-6 players.
I think the Coach lost the room with only 11 games in.

  7. I listen to several Bruin's podcasts and Coach Montgomery is lying when he says " He doesn't change lines much" ! He is like a mad scientist who is CONSTANTLY switching lines and defense pairings! Now I get why these are desperate times, the Bruins have been what I call "Zombie Mode" since late pre-season, for the most part ! I Have been a Big Bruins fan since Bobby ORR days and I Have NEVER seen such pathetic team play, lack of effort, poor special teams, no symmetry or unity, etc. Monty is doing his best but we simply cannot let this drag on , if so how long do we let this demoralized team carry on ? Before we demand action? Clearly there is a disconnect between the coach and team, I believe Monty has to go first. He's a good coach but he's lost the team, it happens to all coaches eventually. 😢😮 Because it is Not all on him , this will elimate that excuse if there's no rebound. Then we must look at another problem the players , bad chemistry and lack of effort! Good trades need to happen soon, call up the better kids etc. salary cap space must be created. Get rid SLOW players, Mr. Neely said in the offseason that he wanted this team to be bigger and FASTER, Zadorov is not Fast, I don't like his negative attitude, he insists he must take penalties to play "his game". This team takes way to many penalties. He MUST Go.that would free up 5million cap space, trade him for young prospects or picks. Another players who is overpaid and has to go is Charlie Coyle , 6 million for essentially a third line checker who doesn't score much, plus his contract is up this year, no way I would re-sign him, trade him ! If Marchand doesn't pick up his production by midseason, no way he gets a big 3year deal. E. Lindholm does Not seem to be a good fit for the first line move him to second. After bringing up Lysell and he fails , trade him. Canucks love him , bye bye. Get rid of Carlo , this guy is so poor defensively, he's like a pylon on defense, he never clears oppents from the crease. I'd take a bag of pucks for him.😂 Sign Tyler Johnson for a year , why not ! Then after all that you have to look at Management 😮 Yes Sweeny has to go , if he hasn't made good deals , on paper what he did seemed good in the off season BUT after we've eliminated everyone else , this where we end up ! Sorry but Sweeny will have to go by year's end and then "do..do..do..Yes that leaves Mr. Neely !😮😭😵

  8. I fall a sleep or i would of puke watching this Debacle.
    Terrible terrible play Unbelievable.
Maybe if they sign Tyler, Johnson, he might bring something up.Get these guys.Let it fire under his a**I don't know something's gotta be done, but I think you guys need to give Tyler Johnson a shot.He looked good in the preseason on the power play and on the line that he played on he made things happen

  9. This looks like a team playing to get rid of their coach.
Offensively, Boston was going to struggle at times. I think we all expected that.
Defensively, we are abysmal. Our system is not working with these guys for some reason. When the opponent is in our zone our team collapses into the center. It looks like we are penalty killing when 5 on 5. Throw in that no one is taking any bodies from the slot and it's a recipe for disaster. No boxing out, no one picks up the late guy. Our goalies deserve no blame at all. The vast amount of goals scored on them are from point blank in the slot. Don't fix that, scoring or not, you are not making the playoffs. Period.
