  2. They are one of the worst in the league coached in the defense side of the game in the league so they make it extra hard on their goaltending and young defense was number 99 good coach no there is your answer to what is wrong in Montreal

  5. Im not sure if the problem falls on the goaltending. Are Montembeault and Primeau the best goalies? No. Do the Habs have one of the worst D core in the leauge, Yes. Giving a guy like Hughes a chance to send a wake up call to Montembeault might be an idea but I think for now they need to focus on the defense. Savard and Ghoulie are the only true defensemen on the team. No hate to Hutson but deeking people out on the blue line is forward behaviour. And matheson….. well hes a power play guy, hes not gonna be the greates defensively.

  6. I am not sure that replacing the goalie will change things when the defense keeps allowing such high-percentage shots at them. What are their defensemen and centers doing? They certainly have no team fundamentals going and I think they are in need of better coaching if they cannot figure it out for themselves, or perhaps a more experienced and defense-oriented captain or assistant. Sure, bring Connor Hughes and see if he can stand on his head any better than anyone else, I suppose…To be honest, I am ok with them struggling this year if they can sort it out by next year. They are young and in need of experience.

  8. Fix the defense first! They stink. You can't hide defensive lapses with better goaltending. That will make our goalies lose confidence and goal average. Sharpen up the 'D', then you will know if your goaltending is any good!

  12. The job of the coaching staff is to work with the broken parts and not further devalue them by bringing in a goalie that is unproven at this level. If C. Hughes fails in front of this lethargic D core what has this accomplished?
