Are Giannis & the Milwaukee Bucks in trouble?

Tim Legler and Adam Mares dive into Thursday night’s NBA matchups, starting with an in-depth analysis of the game between the Milwaukee Bucks and Memphis Grizzlies. They highlight an incredible series of plays from Ja Morant and tackle the big question: Are the Bucks and Giannis Antetokounmpo in trouble?

Next, they discuss the impact of Paolo Banchero’s injury on the Orlando Magic and whether it places them in the “in trouble” category as well. The conversation then turns to evaluating the playoff potential of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors—are they serious contenders this season?

To close out the show, the guys preview a packed Friday night lineup, including the Denver Nuggets vs. Minnesota Timberwolves and Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Milwaukee Bucks matchups.

  1. My boy Mathurin went OFF in win vs Celtics bc Carlisle forced to play him a lot with Nembhard out.

Mathurin since start of last yr in games Carlisle (he didn’t play Tayshaun Prince, or Jalen Brunson enough either & Luka hated him apparently😅) actually plays him 30+mins:

    15 games (36 MPG)
    24 PPG
    7 RBG
    3 APG
    1.8 stocks
    54/45/82 (5 3s per game & 6 FTA)
    +5.5
    Pacers 10-5 record (55-27 pace)

At the game center court row 11 (dad season tickets row 9/11/13 since 1987 Reggie’s rookie year) and I also liked Mathurin playing with Adam’s boy Sheppard. Sheppard plays his ass off and Mathurin’s talent jumps off the screen when he’s actually allowed to play through his mistakes & get experience which Carlisle rarely lets him do.

Career (all but 1 at 20/21yrs old) for Mathurin playin 30+mins (50 games, 34 mpg)

    21.4 PPG
    5.5 RBG
    2.4 APG
    1.7 stocks
    48/37/83

PS we gotta all remember Wemby is in his 20 yr old season so even in 3-4 yrs he’s 2-3 yrs away from his ultimate prime.

  2. you didn't give us anything on the bucks. i want insight. why could this be happening? i see giannis out there communicating and being aggressive. so is it really every single player for the bucks sans giannis doesn't wanna be there and sucks? seems unlikely. something is up.

  3. Legs, as a huge Mavs and Luka fan, you’re 100% correct about what you said. However, I think you’d be remiss not to mention how fucking awful the officiating has been so far this season. Any sane person with knowledge of basketball could see the refs fucked the Mavs over early last night. It’s insane how many free throws are being shot this season, and how many fouls are being given. The NBA’s product is suffering hard, and people don’t pay to watch the refs do their shit. This needs to be talked about.

  4. A Mavs fan here, man it’s been annoying to watch Luka recently for myself as well. He had been trying to get calls instead of looking for good shots or call for plays. He’s smarter than that but good thing he has Kyrie on his side to show him how to change the pace of the game.

  5. Racism in politics is bad for the NBA, yet the association has been silent. Adam Silver has not been an effective leader here. If anything he has participated in reverse racism finding black replacements to actively support vs the white faces of the league.

  6. Memphis is a wildcard. Leave it to Leggs and this pod to dig it out early. Houston looking good too less consistently. Criticism of Luka on point. We felt the power surge of millions of TV sets turned off.

  7. Doc Rivers is an excellent coach. An old school championship caliber coach. Sure he had three HOFers. Sure he pushed Tim Duncan away. Sure he has terrible offensive sets. Sure he doesnt connect with his players. But he’s good! Trust me, he’s good. I mean Celtics wouldnt have won w that underpowered group of nobodies with Doc’s genius.

    Clown World.
