7. We don’t get a pass rusher we ain’t going to make a Super Bowl. You can’t make the Super Bowl with a defense with no pass rush. Go ask other teams that have tried it and got bounced in the 1st round in the playoffs due to not being able to rush the passer. That will be the Lions fate if they don’t fix it.

10. This is sort of what I've been suspecting as the day moved on without a deal announced. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if the Browns purposely leaked that the deal was almost done to try and scare another team into calling to match or beat the offer on the table. See if you can't get a team that's desperate to bite like the Falcons to try to up their team or to prevent the Lions, already the favorites to win the NFC, to pull even further away. You have a team that's agreed to your asking price, but you haven't officially accepted it yet, and now you're trying to finesse for more.

    Now I'm not mad at the Browns for this, if the roles were reversed I'd want Brad to be trying to maximize what we get back too, it's just frustrating for us to wait like this. Who knows, maybe it backfires on the Browns and instead of teams calling them with a better offer, another team, say the Bengals, call the Lions and offer Trey Hendrickson for a similar deal so they get something. Always a risk you take when you play this sort of game, and I'm sure Brad sees what's going on and has been making calls in case this goes south.
