Nets blow past Grizzlies: Is Dennis Schröder too good for the tank?

The Brooklyn Nets are defying expectations with a strong start, thanks in part to Dennis Schroeder’s stellar performance. Ranking top 5 in assists and top 10 in 3-point percentage, Schroeder is a key player in the Nets’ surprising success. Meanwhile, Zaire Williams impresses off the bench, showcasing defensive prowess that could earn him a starting spot over veterans like Dorian Finney-Smith.

This episode explores the Nets’ dilemma between pursuing high draft picks and nurturing young talent. It also addresses Ben Simmons’ ongoing struggles, with more fouls than field goal attempts this season. The hosts praise Jordy Fernandez for his effective coaching and strategic use of the team’s roster.

Tune in to discover how the Brooklyn Nets are navigating these challenges and what it means for their future in the league.

  1. Young players need some vets to learn from. Having a good pg is crucial for the development. You don’t wanna build a losing culture and stunt development

  2. Stop the Hate on Ben.

The negativity directed at Ben is unreal. He has only played four games! You both want Ben to average a certain number of points and assists right out of the gate, but how can you call yourselves Nets fans when you’re already labeling this a tank season? If I follow the metrics you both want for the season, then Ben shouldn't be expected to perform at an All-Star level.

The Nets are building a culture in Brooklyn, and it’s amazing to see the team functioning cohesively again. There are no superstars dominating; everyone is contributing within the team system. Please stop calling it a tank season.

  3. This was never a “tank” team folks smh they are not bad enough. Once they kept cam Johnson and Finney smith and Dennis I knew it wouldn’t be a tank team. Cooper will not be in Brooklyn lol unless his stock drops

  4. If the Bridges trade happened before the Jacque Vaughn canning, should the Nets have just kept Jacque Vaughn? Jacque Vaughn is perfect coach for tanking.

  5. simmons was so bad and frustrating to watch. He does not want to be there. He doesnt run the fast break anymore, he doesnt attack the basket, he fouls too much, he cant shoot….he might be totally out of the league next year because his ego and fancy clothes will not let him sign on a vet min salary

  6. Would be fun to trade cam J and dfs to keep the tank going. Just focus on letting schroder develop our other players and run Jordi's offesne. can't lose him or we go to a 5 win team immediately

  7. Many people saying he should/will get traded tbh I think he will stay he said it multiple times that he wants to stay here. Dennis is perfect for the system brings this team together and the players like him and he also seems to have a good relationship with Jordi. Also with the new movie about him it all indicates for me that he will stay here long term.

  8. We just need to make it into the lottery. Atlanta won the lottery last year and they werent even close to the worst team. I would be happy with a top 3 pick. if we can't get Flagg, I'm perfectly fine with Harper or Bailey

  9. Nice to see the guys win but can't see Dennis keeping up this high standard for long periods so the tank is still real. And by the way, nice to see Doug multitasking and sitting on the crapper whilst doing the podcast…that's where he sounded like he was anyway 😂😂

  10. Honestly couldn’t be more pleased with how this team has played through 5 games this season. Our culture is changing, players developing and we have a system (which personally I will like will only improve from here). Some of the players I been enjoying who’re new Zaire Williams & Jaylen Wilson. Shout out to Milton as well. A guard who can run some PG for us if needed. Im enjoying this one game at a time win or lose. Lets enjoy this season and look towards the 2025 draft in mind. Much love guys

  11. Maybe I sound naive, but is tanking really a thing? It was my understanding that it’s ILLEGAL and in fact the league has flattened the lottery odds so that the 3 worst teams have a better chance of winning top pick. Idk, not a fan of “tanking” no matter what
