I have been watching football a long time – Giants fan as well – the Giants are in purgatory because they trot out a pretty good backup QB- I dont want to rag on daniel but every week I watch other QBs get the ball down the field with anticipation and aggression. DJ is a great athlete but wont throw the ball until he "Sees" someone open. Count up how many passes DJ hit a receiver where he released the ball before the WR broke? If we had Baker Mayfield we would probably have won 4 or 5 games by now and most don't value Baker very highly.

  17. This is on the coach/play caller. Your job is to make it work with what you have. Brian Daboll has shown in his NFL coaching career that he cannot be a good OC. Within the four years he coached Josh Allen, only during the last two did he see success. And that was due to Ken Dorsey becoming the QB coach. The first two seasons Josh Allen was labeled as a potential bust. And every other QB he had a chance to coach ALL FAILED!!!

    The reason he will likely not be fired is because the whole fanbase wants DJ gone (rightfully so). Daboll will get his QB and likely ruin him too, setting us back even further. The only hope is that Schoen has another draft class like this year.

    They wonā€™t tank. Not fair to the existing players on the team.

    And Evanā€¦the Jets are right behind them with their ā€œstarā€ QB. At least the Giants fans know the QB is back up caliber.

  37. If people really paid attention during the preseason, you could see this was a three-win team. Nabers was not going to fix the fundamental flaws with this team. It starts with ownership and works downward from there. Schoen's first two drafts were subpar and the roster is soft. 2024 looks good so far. And Daboll doesn't inspire confidence in anyone. He's best served as an OC. And of course the QB is not going to take you to the promised land. He's a good guy and you won't have to worry about that 3 AM phone call from the police. But the play has to be better on the field.
