  1. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results…

My philosophy is to continue the rebuild from this season. Not going to believe Arturo's lies of spending money and being competitive for a wild card. No Christmas Want List of FAs this off-season like previous years.

    1. Gary Sanchez- A undervalued player sneaking under the radar. Snell himself commented it was a package deal for both of them last season. He was Snell's catcher. Realize that we won't get Snell, so might as well get some part of that dynamic. He can mentor O'Hoppe in anyway he can. I'm done with Thaiss so trade him for value. Still got years of control.

    2. SP- Any 1 year deal for cheap. We need more time to develop and slowly bring up our own talent.

    Now a dose of reality:

Kyle Hendricks- Not the most adored pick-up as of now. Everyone is overlooking the obvious that he is a WINNER. Brings stability and can mentor this young staff. For $2.5M that's a bargain and risk I'll take over Canning anytime.

So the SP lineup looks like this for me as of now:
    1. Tyler
    2. Kochanowicz
    3. Hendricks
    4. Soriano- Needs a full season of starts
    5. Davis Daniel- His 1st full season opportunity
    Silseth and Detmers are TBD

Soler- Not the ideal trade piece, we got the worst end of the deal with the ATL salary dump. We had Sano, Hicks, Calhoun and even Drury at DH this season. I think we were scraping the bottom of the barrel with them. Strikeouts no doubt, but a least has some pop in his bat. Reclamation project for sure.

Kingery- Is a depth piece that plays multiple positions. Placeholder for Moore until he is ready.

Noda- Another depth piece and needed LH bat to backup Schanuel at 1B.

Being negative some might think? Just realistic that it will be another rebuild year with many losses until our young team figures it out.

  2. Mike wins GM this year with his first sentence. Cut Rendon. I tried believing in him last year and giving him another opportunity but he couldn't do it. Cut the loss. He may be one of those guys that needs a new scenery like Brandon Marsh

  3. GM Week!

    Difference Makers

    SP – B Snell – 5 years 155-165 Million

    SP – Shinnosuke Ogasawara – 3 Years 39 Million
    (Needs to prove MLB transition)

    Gio Urshela – 2 Years 8-10 Million
(Needs comeback year. Good utility 1st/3rd back up with contact)

    SUPPLEMENTAL

    Travis d'Arnaud – 2 Years 6 Million

    Carlos Esteves – 2 Years 12-14 Million
(Good leader. Makes us much deeper)

    TRADE –
    (A 1 year Salary Dump)
Tyler Anderson, 5 Million Eaten, + Thaiss or Stephanic or Suarez for Red Sox Prospect C – Kyle Teel.

    OR

Tyler Anderson + Niko Kavadas for SF Giants Prospect C – Yohendry Sanchez

    Rengifo Extention – 5-6 Years 30-36 Million

    – 2.5 Million for Hendricks

Remaining $$ Can/Should be enough to cover the impending risks/waivers/1 year deals we're bound to see.

Brings us to roughly 51 Million or so spent this offseason. And 6 million under the luxury tax.

Sandavols Arbitration should be less this year too.

    Thanks guys!

  4. Mike, I couldn't agree with you more about Rendon. I don't think Flaherty will come that cheap. But you never know. I would like to see the Angels sign a defensive minded catcher. To help O'Hoppe with calling a game and working with the pitchers. Good job Mike

  5. Good morning gentlemen. Great GM shows, really like the strategies and the substantiation behind the pics. I’m definitely all in with adding great arms. Looking forward to the next season and hopefully a great off-season. Have a great weekend and happyVeterans Day

  6. Can’t think of a reason why Sasaki would pick the Angels over the Dodgers? There’s not even a Japanese player on our roster and his best friends are on the Dodgers while their ownership is more willing to pay him more? Maybe he wants a challenge but with how dysfunctional the Angels are that would take some extreme mental gymnastics to make that argument.
