Jack always makes me feel better. Cliffs:
– restructure DW 25 – on roster all of 25 – restructure 26 – cut with post June 1 designation immediately after restructure – cap hits are 37 in 2025, 46 in 2026 and 89.5 in 2027
Not ideal but won’t affect roster construction at all.
He actually expects them to make a move for someone like Cousins or Darnold if they don’t like any of the rookies. Trying and find a competitive bridge and give our vets one last chance.
Said a blow up is actually worse for cap bc you end up eating dead cap instead of being able to restructure.
Jack is great with this stuff. It definitely sucks, but is not doomsday by any means.
It all comes down to the one thing that has haunted the Browns since the return… finding a good QB. If we find one, we can be great (even with Watson’s contract). If not, more of the same.
