After all those terrible Farhan years, it’s really refreshing to see Posey be the transparent and humble guy he’s always been. Instead of trying to spin everything, we’ve got a true and proven leader to take us forward!

  1. “Buster Posey, President of Baseball Operations for the San Francisco Giants” is still such a bizarre sentence to me

  2. While I don’t think we will sign any big ticket free agent hitters. Buster has a way with making things happen. In 2010, the year of torture, we had a core staff that was top notch and a great Defense, along with timely hitting. I think this model best suits the park we play in. We didn’t need 3 or 4 guys to hit 30 homers. I hope Buster can reinvent that team formula. 2012 we had probably the most balanced team of our 3 World Series teams. So starting with a some big time pitchers would be ideal. The park is a selling factor to them.

“I don’t like Farhan, but I like Buster”

Buster has the experience of being a pro player and being a part of interviews for years. Tons of cache. I’m interested to see how he handles adversity, especially after honeymoon period is over.

  4. He’s literally not done shit yet but hire a GM and lose a bunch of staff. Can we cool it on this stuff until there’s actual reason for it?

  5. Coolest thing about this clip is just how loose and warm Buster’s being, lots of genuine smiles and easy jokes

I love the guy and he’s incredible at most things, but a “warm and loose” presence wasn’t really part of his style before. Even when he was announced weeks ago, he was smart and measured, as always, but obviously feeling the weight of the big announcement

What I’m saying is: as the new face of the front office, he’s bringing a good, confident, fun face to the org

  6. Farhan was a likeable humble guy. There were a number of articles about how likeable he was when he was hired. So how about we see Posey actually do something before we start proclaiming him a great POBO. Other than hire one of Farhan’s guys to be his GM.

I’m not saying Posey won’t be good at the job, but we are literally praising him before his job has even begun. He may be great. He may make us beg to have Farhan back by trading Eldrige for a 33 yo shortstop Bobby Evans style. It just might actually make sense to wait and see what happens.
