  1. I say dont trade Gilbert. We want him moved up this year with mets. We can trade marte and jeff plus any one in minors except sprout and Gilbert. We definitely need pitching. Trade with Seattle. They have a ton of pitching. I wouldnt mind snell this time around. Snell doesn't have a QO either so that helps. Crochet scares me.

  2. We have to keep Pete!! He is a future Hall of Famer. The reason the Yankees have such a storied history is because yankee players stay in uniform till the end of their careers. (That and the fact they won 27 chips). As a METS fan I can’t see POLAR BEAR PETE in any other uniform.

  3. Noooooo. Adames for 7 years for over 20 mil a year doesn’t seem to be a gd idea. Pretty much guarantees Alonso won’t be back. I’d rather a Arenado trade. It’d b for 3 years and I think the cards would pay it down even more. Wouldn’t cost much in prospects either.

Also signing Soto without Alonso in the lineup really hurts. Sotos numbers would be 35th better with a bat like Alonso behind him. Also just imagine a lindor, vientos Soto and Alonso for the top 1-4. That’s be amazing. Wouldn’t look anywhere near as good with Willy Adames in there

  4. I think we do not need Willy adames. We have enough depth in the infield and enough young talent. Let the young guys have a chance and see if they work out. We need to be experimenting with acuna, Mauricio, a bit of baty as those are all our definite infield prospects. Infield is our abundance so unless we plan on shipping them however i would not like to see them ship out young talent.

I’m all for Corbin Burnes I think he’d be perfect

Also I wouldn’t mind going for crochet but will he be an inning eater? We need pitchers who go deep into games

  5. Mets need starting pitching top priority bring back Alonso Jesse winker Joc Peterson bullpen trade for young pitching need more speed on bases this 2024 mets team look lost on the bases pads I said last summer tradedeadline trade for crochet or Logan web and another great catcher

  6. No to Adames. They have so many INF prospects that could play 3rd if they REALLY don’t want Vientos there long-term, and Vientos can always improve his def. Look at Alonso, he improved. Save Adames money elsewhere in Soto/Alonso/pitchers, especially if you don’t need to spend money on 2B or 3B. I trust in Stearns but this is kind of stupid and redundant

  7. Vientos can't match Pete defensively, but his bat would be more consistent, if he can continue like he did towards the end of the season. Vientos was terrible the first half (both ways), in my opinion. Is Torrenz able to play first?

  8. Torrenz has a great arm, and when he initially got a chance to play, 3 HRS in 2 games, and not just routine HRS, without those two games the Mets might not have come up 1 game short at the end of the yr. Why didn't he get a chance to expand on his initial performance? He didn't appear to hit well, at the end of the yr; but maybe if he didn't have to sit so long, he might have been able to generate better results?

  9. As much as I loved watching Jeff McNeil in 2022, he was hard to watchin 2023 & the first part of 2024. I think he can be great again, but there is a lot of young talent…Pete also still has another 50+ yr HR season, and who knows if not more; but man he strikes out a ton, and many of them are in clutch situations (though he CAN come up with a clutch HR or two, ONCE in a while). AND we need more pitching. If Chicago would want immediate talent, what about them as the major part of a deal?? (assuming we could get someone at first who plays as good defensively as Pete…though his throws to second and a covering pitcher, are brutal many times!)

  10. Pete does a great job of scooping out bad throws, AND maybe next yr may be a great yr for him, being that contract worries would be past him, and he appears to have the capability to it HRs the opposite way, now…

  11. I think he'll probably hit 40 HRs next yr, now that his contract worries would be past him; the question is, is how many of those would be irrelevant, vs pure CLUTCH?………………………….Moving Lindor to leadoff proved to be pure genious, and we need to get Manaea & Severino back next yr. They didn't do too well in post season (especially Manaea); but without them, the run they made after May passed, could have probably never happened. They were great, and when they come back next yr, I would guess they'll be even more comfortable………..Nunez, Reed-Foley, Garret & Diaz (without as many occasional blunders?), with Burnes & Crochet (i.e., Senga, Manaea, Severino, Burnes & Crochet, & Petersen! …all healthy?!)…wow

  12. good second baseman (put Iglesias at 3rd, if Mauricio could prove himself offensively, ultimately)…McNeil, Iglesias, Mauricio = a lot of second base talent, with Jeff being an excellent outfielder, as well! Just stop the swinging with half 9-iron shots, and constantly popping up. what he was doing in the latter part of the yr, was much better.

  13. June 3rd to 9/30/24 = great, and so much more possibility, for even a better level of performance. Something was missing (e.g. Soto & better/more consistent relief>>>)

  14. Honestly I don't want and I am hoping that Adames goes somewhere else. Even if it didn't end the Mets pursuit of the Polar Bear I would still be against the signing. I think any long term deal with Adames is not going to age well at all. Give that albatross to someone else like the Braves.

  15. I know you like Alvarez, a lot, and he does have his moments; but not knowing Torrenz more, other than he's great behind the plate/great arm, is he capable of playing 1st or 3rd base, being that he can catch well, and has a fantastic arm?

  16. With those CLUTCH-first 3 HRs he hit (in two games), I really wonder if he was given a chance to continue playing, what he could have done for the team.

  17. I wonder if he could scoop the bad throws out of the dirt, and stop the hard line drives between the right-foul line & the second baseman (like Pete does so well)?
