Fuckkkkkkkk
He needed to do something.
It will be like making a big trade, trading for a RH Power Bat DH when he returns in late July/August !

Pick up Travis D’Arnaud?
Um. What.
Cut my life into pieces
At least he’s actually getting treatment instead of being in denial
(coughs) McKenzie
Gotta keep Josh now right?
Sucks but necessary. Gives Manzo a chance to take the reigns though
Great start to the offseason
Well what the heckarooni! Sorry to hear it, Fry Guy 😔
…maybe this means Carlos Santana can come back now that he’s a free agent…? A gal can dream
Say sike right now
Too bad it is such a long recovery, but maybe now he can come back as super utility or at least catcher. He was really on track to finally give us a catcher that can hit. Hopefully he gets some great bonding time with that adorable baby of his.
That’s not Frydeal.
“Realistic” dream scenario would be to sign Teoscar to take over DH and give Manzo a shot at full time 1st base duties. Could possibly split some time with Noel there, then see what we can get for Josh.
At least he’ll be able to play in some capacity next season. July, at the latest, assuming no complications.
This is exactly what I figured was coming for the past few months but it doesn’t make the news any easier to take
I never believed Josh Naylor had much value to the 2025 team in a trade, so this makes it more likely he stays at first next year.
Unless another bat is added, I figure a Johnathan Rodriguez type would have a shot at some more consistent AB’s.
You still have Noel, Naylor, and theoretically Manzardo who can play first (I only say theoretically because Vogt treated him like a 38 year old DH this past season).
Has this not been expected for months now? The team was not at all subtle that he had an elbow issue that couldn’t be solved in season; why else would he exclusively DH?
Not sure why so many people seem shocked by this announcement. All indications have been pointing to offseason elbow surgery for awhile.
Why is everyone doom and gloom about this? This was expected!!!
It’s a bummer, but not terribly surprising. He was a near-perfect option for the 26th roster spot. A 3rd C who crushes lefties and can play all over the field filled so many holes for this team.
Backup C who can push Bo was a high off-season priority for me. Healthy Fry could’ve been that, but seemed like wishcasting as his injury became more apparent.
I assumed surgery, but that’s a helluva recovery time. Maybe it’ll be like a free trading deadline pickup of a DH.
Thanks for those unforgettable post season HRs 🫡 rest up
Damn, but this would explain the dropoff in production after May. I’m glad he got the surgery he needed. But that’s a long road to recovery.
So he’s missing April and at least part of May. I can live with that and him getting healthy – he was so clutch in the playoffs and if he can get this elbow right will provide so much help the next season.
Get Manzo on first – make a move with Josh this offseason and rip off the bandaid.
I’m not crying, YOU’RE crying
Can someone explain how losing a major player in our lineup for the year means that we have to lose Silver slugger finalist Josh Naylor?
So, Carlos Santana?
He should honestly take 2025 off and be fully healthy for the year after. Only way I’d say come back earlier is to pull a Kyle Schwarber, which unfortunately helped fuck us out of a WS. So hopefully Cry can do the reverse for us next year.
1. Fuck
2. That man is a hell of a hitter with a bum elbow

Damn
Good. Get healthy and come back stronger than ever!
As a Yankees fan, this guy is tough as nails for playing like he did while injured. Great ball player.
