His whole “I love being a Cub” front is pretty lame. We all know if he got a deal elsewhere, he would have taken it.
I kind of wish we didn’t re-sign him.
The league is starting to figure out Boras, finally. Players are starting to dump him. Many teams refuse to negotiate with his clients at all. He is feeling the heat.
Yeah I called this a few weeks ago and was flamed. We’re running it back again this year.
Did Boras finally run out of puns today?
Basically all this says is he knew he was gonna not get the kind the cubs are going to pay him next season anywhere rode.
“I love being a cub” is a old and tired statement. We all know everyone likes being a Cub.
“I didn’t perform well enough in 2024 to command a better deal so I chose to be pragmatic.”
I’m ok with him coming back. We need to have Jed cut a blank check for Soto
We’re the only idiots who’d pay that much. Players have probably learned from Rizzo and Baez’s experiences that if the Cubs make you an offer and you’re not a top-tier player, it’s probably a stupid overpay and you might as well take it.
The best part about this is Belli is in a contract year again. He won’t be sitting on his laurels, so he’s at least going to be trying
