[Wolf Son] No surprise: #MNTwins have let OF Manny Margot know that they declined their part of the mutual 2025 option. He’s going to be a free agent. ‘25 option was for $12M. It’s $2M to buy that out (not paid by Twins).

He was good for.. one month. Success?
I can’t believe it
Not at all surprised, but hey he got an MLB record out of the whole thing.
What a disaster of a season for Margot.
Worst OPS+ of his career (excluding 10 game 2016), lowest SLUG, went from a + 3 OAA in 2023 to a -5 in 2024. Wish him the best, but don’t expect he’ll have an easy time finding a job.
Not resigning Michael A. Taylor was always a stupid move and Margot’s failure is the proof
I’ll never forget your bases clearing double against Seattle. Now go away.
Called it in February right after the trade that he was going to be terrible and was a waste of a roster spot, even as a 4th outfielder. Got nothing but downvotes.
So if the Twins don’t pay the $2M buyout, who does?
“No surprise” really doing the heavy lifting here
A minor league deal skmewhere
Praise Be
He won’t be missed, but I’m confident the team will replace him with another under-performing mid player on an affordable 1 year contract.
Wow. Manny Margot, what can we say, he was a baseball player. Most of the time.
