2. Quick side bit, I was coaching at that track meet! We would literally all stop what we were doing to watch any time any of the Crousers was throwing! That whole family is borderline superhero-level strong!

5. From game 1 this looked like a group of selfish players trying to bolster their own stats. This team has far too much talent to be this bad, but they currently are this bad. The only player on the team I see who is a willing passer or defender is Deni and he was relegated to the bench for last night's game. I've just looked up assists per game and Portland are dead last in the league, with the last three games being especially horrendous. Not looking good for Chauncey.

6. Wheels made me a Blazer fan as a kid when we didn't have cable. I truly can't imagine a better radio voice and Portland was lucky to have him. RIP

7. Good tell it like it is summary. Rough times this year for the reasons you identified- trying to get a good draft pick while playing hard and focused is proving near impossible.

   I grew up listening to the Shonz, so when Wheels took over it took me a minute to get into his style. But over the years, he was so freaking good. I used to call in all the time (Ralph) on various shows, including the Monday TV broadcast. They used to also have calls on the pregame show. Brian was super nice and put up with my sometimes meandering opines. The radio used to be more synced up with the TV broadcast and I always preferred Wheels making the game even more real and exciting. RIP brother.

9. As a neutral (Kings) fan (go Kris Murray!), the Blazers just took too many quick, contested shots. Didn't touch the paint, exploit mismatches, slow the game down. It's like they don't trust their half court offense at all. Also, defense had like 2 or 3 deflections at most until garbage time. At halftime, the message should have been: forget the score, just get quality shots and deflections.

    Chauncey is absolutely trash and has the same excuses as lat year when he got blown out by 50 twice!!!

14. the L's don't matter… the coach called his guys Losers, and fans from other teams are LOL at Portland getting punked. Those are not the L's that Blazer fans should be absorbing.

17. Wouldn't all you guys who chew the fat about our basketball idols be better off (and more useful) taking jobs as customer service reps in call centers? Covering a team that consistently proves it has no chance at winning will rot your self esteem and call your sanity into question. Save yourselves before it's too late.

20. I've heard a couple of stories reflecting Wheels' kindness.
    • My buddy's bro-in-law shared a room in a care facility with Wheels until last Christmas. The bro-in-law was on a feeding tube. Wheels, in his kindness and caring manner, shared his Christmas candy with his roommate. The bro-in-law was ok, but it got them separated.
    • Later this year, OSU Announcer Mike Parker came to visit Wheels. Wheels knew bro-in-law was a huge fan of Mr. Parker, and watched every sport he covered. He shared this with Mr. Parker, who, on his way out, stopped in to visit with bro-in-law. Reportly, it was a lengthy chat, which was like being with your favorite rock star for bro-in-law.

21. What the big brains running the Blazer organization don’t seem to understand is that there are 29 other NBA teams for fans to care about. Most of us don’t go to the Moda Center. We consume Blazer related content online or on “TV”. They’re walking a thin line …

23. There's losing and then there's getting your ass blown ass multiple times so badly it doesn't go back to normal. Big players were out for Memphis yet they still got embarrassed. I really wanted to give Chauncey a long leash, but damn. Ain't no way he's coming back next year and cutting his cord earlier rather than later is looking the only way forward. GM failed to bring in an older veteran just be a voice of accountability. They have the cap space to do it. Instead it looks like a team that is just showing up with "pickup game mentality" and going home with their check. Assuming that owners are planning to sell the team, Cronin is probably staying until then.

24. Loved the shout out to Brian Wheeler. Due to my job i also listened to a lot of Blazer games on radio from 2002-2010. Loved his passion for the team.

25. This is what the Grizz have done to almost everyone this season except Brooklyn. They did it to the Lakers, Wizards, etc. They lead the league in offense rating. Don't act like we could not have expected this! It's due to their new offense under Tuomas Iisalo.

26. Getting blown out on the road I can deal with but Quiting while playing in front of your fans at home is unacceptable especially against a team missing their 2 best players. I put this embarrassing performance on the vets Simons, Grant and Ayton. Promote the assistant coach and send Billups out because the majority of the team has quit on executing Billups plan.

29. Continuing to see Simons on this team is so frustrating for me, especially when he is playing like this. I really hope we move on this deadline, I don’t even care the return.
